DESCRIPTION

Poliodoxine is an anti-infective drug for the treatment of infections of pigs and poultry caused by microorganisms sensitive to doxycycline. In appearance, it is a thick, transparent solution of yellow-brown color, containing no sediment or particles visible to the naked eye.

COMPOSITION

The drug as an active ingredient contains doxycycline in the form of hyclate - 100 mg, and auxiliary components: benzyl alcohol 10 mg, propylene glycol - up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The glycate included in the drug is a semi-synthetic antibiotic of the third generation of preparations of the tetracycline group, active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, some protozoa, as well as pathogens of mycoplasmas, including Eschenchia coli, Haemophilus spp., Pasteurella spp., Salapmonella spp. ., Treponema spp., Streptococcus spp., Clostridium spp., Chlamydia spp., Rickettsia spp., Klebsiella spp., Bacteroides spp., Listeria spp., And also Mycoplasma spp ..

The mechanism of bacteriostatic action of doxycycline is based on inhibition of the activity of enzymes that catalyze the binding of aminoacetyl RNA to ribosomal acceptors, which leads to blocking of the interaction of aminoacyl transport RNA with messenger RNA and disruption of protein synthesis by a microbial cell.

The drug is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract of poultry and is quickly distributed in all organs and tissues of the body. The effective concentration in the blood is reached after 2-4 hours and is maintained for 18-24 hours. It is excreted from the body mainly with feces.

INDICATIONS

For the treatment of infections of pigs and birds caused by microorganisms sensitive to doxycycline, such as Pasteurella, Bordetella, E. coli, Salmonella, Safylococcus, Streptococcus, Clostridium, Rickettsia, Chlamydia, Mycoplasma.

APPLICATION

Poliodoxin is administered to animals individually or in groups with water for drinking in the following doses:

For pigs: 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (equivalent to 10 mg of doxycycline per 1 kg of animal weight) once a day for 5 days.

Poultry: 0.5-1 ml per 1 liter of drinking water (equivalent to 50-100 mg doxycycline per 1 liter of water) for 3-5 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Slaughter of pigs for meat is allowed no earlier than 10 days, poultry - no earlier than 6 days after the last application of Poliodoxin. In case of group use, the bird during the treatment period should receive only water containing the drug. The therapeutic solution of Poliodoxin, calculated for consumption by a bird during the day, is prepared daily.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Hypersensitivity to tetracycline. Do not use in animals with liver failure, pregnant and lactating females. It is not allowed to use the drug in conjunction with antacids, kaolin and preparations containing iron, magnesium, calcium and aluminum, together with bactericidal antibiotics.

SIDE EFFECTS

Photosensitivity may occur, with prolonged treatment, changes in the intestinal microflora are possible.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store in a dry place protected from bright light and direct sunlight at temperatures from 0 В° C to 25 В° C. Shelf life, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of production.
