PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Non-phenolic coal creolin has an acaricidal effect on the pathogens of sheep psoroptosis, and has a long-lasting residual effect on the skin and hair. The drug has a strong disinfectant, antiseptic and antiparasitic effect. Phenolic coal-free creolin has low toxicity for warm-blooded animals, in recommended doses it does not have a local irritating and allergenic effect.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
For the treatment and prevention of scabies (psoroptosis), sheep are bathed in a floating bath or a specially adapted container with a 2% water emulsion of creolin in dry weather at an air temperature of at least 18 В° C. The temperature of the bathing emulsion should be within the range of 20 - 25 В° РЎ. Exposition - 2 minutes.
Sick sheep are bathed twice with an interval of 10 days, suspects - once. Before treatment, the animals are allowed to rest, feeding is stopped 4 to 5 hours, and drinking is stopped 1 to 2 hours before treatment.
The working emulsion of the drug is prepared before use. For this purpose, creolin is added to a bath filled with water with careful movement at the rate of 2 kg per 100 l of water (20 kg per 1000 l). The bath is refilled after 200 sheep have been treated. In this case, for every 1000 liters of water, 20 kg of creolin are introduced into the bath. When leaving the bath, the animals are kept for 15 minutes on the outlet platform to drain the emulsion, and then released into the pasture. In the cold season, animals are kept for drying indoors. When the bath becomes dirty, it is freed, thoroughly cleaned of dirt, and the working emulsion is again prepared.
After the treatment of the sheep, the acaricidal liquid is discharged into settling wells, avoiding environmental pollution.
Before mass treatments of animals, each batch of the drug is tested on a small group of sheep (10 - 15 heads) of different fatness. If no signs of toxicosis are noted in the animals within 2 days after treatment, the entire livestock is treated.
For disinfection, disinsection, deacarization and disinfestation of premises, equipment, care items, use 3 - 5% water emulsion heated to 60 В° C.
For antiseptic treatment (washing) of wounds, hooves and treatment of skin diseases, a 0.5 - 2.5% aqueous emulsion is used.
