DESCRIPTION

Peltamast is a drug for the prevention and treatment of mastitis in cows during the dry period.

COMPOSITION

Neomycin sulfate, doxycycline hydrochloride, complex prolonged base.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The combination of active substances included in Peltamast expands the spectrum of the antibacterial activity of the drug, prevents the development of resistance of microorganisms.

Neomycin sulfate is an aminoglycoside antibiotic, effective against a number of gram-positive (staphylococci, pneumococci) and gram-negative (Escherichia coli, dysentery bacillus, Proteus, etc.) microorganisms.

Doxycycline hydrochloride is a semisynthetic derivative of oxytetracycline, effective against most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Doxycycline is rapidly absorbed and slowly excreted from the body.

Thanks to the combined action of doxycycline, neomycin and a special base, a prolonged antibacterial effect of the drug is provided for 6 weeks.

INDICATIONS

For the prevention and treatment of mastitis in cows during the dry period.

APPLICATION

Peltamast is administered to clinically healthy cows with subclinical mastitis after the last milking when transferring to the dry period, but not later than 49 days before the expected calving, once, intracisternally, 10 ml in each quarter of the udder.

The drug should not be used in cows during lactation and less than 49 days before calving. If the drug was mistakenly administered to lactating cows or less than 49 days before calving, milk cannot be used for food within 53 days.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Individual hypersensitivity to neomycin and doxycycline.

SIDE EFFECTS

For food purposes, milk may be used no earlier than 96 hours after calving. The slaughter of animals and the use of meat products for food is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the last administration of the drug.

STORAGE

In a dark place at a temperature of 5 В° C to 20 В° C. Expiration date: 2 years.
