COMPOSITION
As active substances, Ovostop-K in 1 ml contains cyproterone acetate - 11.0 mg, propoxan - 16.5 mg and melatonin - 110.0 mg.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Cyproterone acetate acts on the hypothalamic-pituitary system, blocks the secretion of gonadotropic hormones by the adenohypophysis and reduces the synthesis of endogenous androgens.
Prooxane blocks postsynaptic О± 1 and presynaptic О± 2 adrenergic receptors.
Melatonin is a synthetic analogue of the pineal gland hormone.
The simultaneous effect of three active substances on the animal's body blocks the processes associated with the occurrence of estrus in bitches and cats and the state of sexual arousal in cats and males.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Ovostop-K is used in cats to reduce sexual activity and correct undesirable behavior.
Ovostop-K is used once in the evening by drip application onto dry intact skin in the back area between the shoulder blades or in the neck area at the base of the skull at a dose of 1 ml per cat, regardless of body weight.
If there is no effect within 24 hours, the drug is reapplied in the same dose.
The effect of using the drug in cats is longer up to 4-6 months with a short light day and in young animals, with a long light day, the effect lasts for 2-3 months. In dogs, due to the longer sexual cycle, a single application of the drug delays ovulation for up to 6 months.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Do not wash or bathe the animal within 48 hours before and after treatment, and do not apply the drug to damp or damaged skin.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Ovostop-K should not be used in cats and bitches, as well as immature animals.
The drugs are contraindicated in diseases of the reproductive system, breast tumors, diabetes mellitus, hormonal disorders, allergic diseases, lymphoma, autoimmune diseases, lymphogranulomatosis, leukemia, myeloma, epilepsy, chronic renal failure.
SIDE EFFECTS
In case of an overdose of Ovostop-K, a slight increase in the weight of the animal, an increase in appetite, and apathy are possible.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
Store medicinal products in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, protected from light and moisture, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 2 В° C to 25 В° C. Shelf life is 2 years.
