DESCRIPTION

Ovostop is a drug for contraception and regulation of sexual behavior in bitches.

COMPOSITION

As active ingredients, ovostop in 1 ml contains megestrol acetate 11.0 mg, prooxan - 11.0 mg and melatonin - 110.0 mg.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Megestrol acetate acts on the hypothalamic-pituitary system, blocks the secretion of gonadotropic hormones by the adenohypophysis.

Prooxane blocks postsynaptic О± 1 and presynaptic О± 2 adrenergic receptors. Melatonin is a synthetic analogue of the pineal gland hormone.

The simultaneous effect of three active substances on the animal's body blocks the processes associated with the occurrence of estrus in bitches and cats and the state of sexual arousal in cats and males.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Ovostop is used in cats and bitches for contraception and regulation of sexual behavior.

Ovostop is applied once in the evening by drip application to dry intact skin in the back area between the shoulder blades or in the neck area at the base of the skull at a dose of 1 ml per cat, regardless of body weight.

For bitches, taking into account body weight in doses indicated in the table.

If there is no effect within 24 hours, the drug is reapplied in the same dose.

The effect of using the drug in cats is longer up to 4-6 months with a short light day and in young animals, with a long light day, the effect lasts for 2-3 months. In dogs, due to the longer sexual cycle, a single application of the drug delays ovulation for up to 6 months.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Do not wash or bathe the animal within 48 hours before and after treatment, and do not apply the drug to damp or damaged skin.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Ovostop should not be used by immature, pregnant and lactating animals.

The drugs are contraindicated in diseases of the reproductive system, breast tumors, diabetes mellitus, hormonal disorders, allergic diseases, lymphoma, autoimmune diseases, lymphogranulomatosis, leukemia, myeloma, epilepsy, chronic renal failure.

SIDE EFFECTS

In case of an overdose of Ovostop, pathological changes in the tissues of the uterus and ovaries, an increase in body weight, increased appetite, apathy, and slight hypertrophy of the mammary glands are possible.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store medicinal products in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, protected from light and moisture, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 2 В° C to 25 В° C. Shelf life is 2 years.
