Acute otitis externa;
exacerbation of chronic otitis media (including in the presence of persistent perforation of the tympanic membrane);
conditions after surgery on the middle ear.
For adults, 5 drops are instilled into the ear 3 times / day or a gauze turunda with a drug previously applied to it is injected into the external auditory canal 2 times / day.
The drug can be used to wash the tympanic cavity through an attic cannula.
For children, 3 drops are instilled into the ear 3 times / day or a gauze turunda with a drug previously applied to it is injected into the external auditory canal 2 times / day.
The duration of treatment is no more than 7 days.
Before using the ear drops, it is recommended to warm the bottle by holding it in your hand to avoid the discomfort associated with the ingress of cold liquid into the ear.
Ear drops in the form of a transparent solution of red-orange color.

Excipients: macrogol 400 - 25 g, ascorbic acid - 0.5 g, disodium edetate - 0.012 g, potassium disulfite - 0.15 g, lithium hydroxide - 0.135 g, purified water - up to 100 ml.
Hypersensitivity to rifamycin or other components of the drug.
pharmachologic effect
An antibiotic from the rifamycin group for topical use in otorhinolaryngology. Has a bactericidal effect. The mechanism of action of rifamycin is associated with the formation of a stable complex with DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, which inhibits the growth of bacteria. It is active against most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria that cause the development of infectious and inflammatory diseases of the middle ear.
Side effect
Rarely: allergic skin reactions (urticaria, pruritus, pinpoint skin rash).
Application during pregnancy and lactation
Adequate and strictly controlled clinical studies of the safety of using Otofa during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) have not been conducted.
During pregnancy and lactation, the use of the drug is possible if the potential benefit to the mother outweighs the possible risk to the fetus and child.

The drug gives a pink color to the tympanic membrane (visible on otoscopy).
Avoid contact of the drug with clothing, because the solution may stain the fabric.
Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and use mechanisms
There is no data on the negative effect of the drug on the ability to drive a car and other vehicles.
Overdose
Due to the low degree of systemic absorption, overdose is unlikely.
