DESCRIPTION

Otidez - highly effective ear drops for the treatment of acute and chronic otitis media, superficial dermatitis of the outer ear and ear canal of bacterial, fungal, allergic and parasitic etiology in animals. In appearance, the drug is a translucent light yellow liquid, slightly foaming when shaken, with a weak specific odor.

COMPOSITION

Contains in 1 ml as active ingredients: gentamicin sulfate - 4 mg, terbinafine hydrochloride - 10 mg, permethrin - 0.3 mg, dexamethasone - 1 mg, propolis extract - 1 mg, benzocaine - 10 mg, auxiliary components.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Otidez has antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic and acaricidal effects.

Gentamicin sulfate is an antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group with a broad spectrum of action. In vitro tests confirm its activity against different types of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms: Escherichia coli, Proteus spp. (indole positive and indole negative), Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Citrobacter spp., Salmonella spp., Shigella spp. and Staphylococcus spp. (including penicillin- and methicillin-resistant strains). The mechanism of action is associated with inhibition of bacterial DNA synthesis.

Terbinafine hydrochloride belongs to the group of allylamines, has a wide spectrum of antifungal action. Permethrin belongs to the group of pyrethroids, which has a toxic effect on the central and peripheral nervous system of arthropods. It has a pronounced contact and intestinal activity against sarcoptic mites, including the causative agent of otodectosis. The mechanism of action of permethrin is to block the transmission of nerve impulses, which causes paralysis and death of ectoparasites.

Dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticosteroid that has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, immunosuppressive effect.

Benzocaine is a local anesthetic for surface anesthesia. Prevents the occurrence of pain in the endings of the sensory nerves and the conduction of pain impulses along the nerve fibers.

The propolis extract has a pronounced bactericidal, bacteriostatic, antiviral, antifungal, wound healing and calming effect on the skin of an animal.

INDICATIONS

Prescribed to dogs, cats and fur animals:

for the treatment of acute and chronic otitis media of bacterial, fungal and parasitic etiology;

for the treatment of acute and chronic superficial dermatitis of the external ear and ear canal of bacterial, fungal and parasitic etiology;

to relieve the manifestations of allergic reactions on the skin in the ear area and adjacent surfaces.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

Before use, the bottle with Otidez should be shaken thoroughly. Carry out hygienic treatment, cleaning the auricles from superficial crusts and scabs with a swab moistened with a small amount of the drug and drip into each ear with 3-6 drops of Otidez (cats, fur animals and small dogs up to 10 kg, 3 drops, medium-sized dogs from 10 up to 40 kg - 4 drops, dogs of large breeds weighing more than 40 kg - 5-6 drops). The drug is used twice a day for 5-10 days, then as directed by a veterinarian.

When treating an ear mite, the treatment is carried out twice, with an interval of 5-7 days. If necessary, repeat the course of treatment after 14 days. The drug must be injected into both ears, even if only one ear is affected by otodectosis.

In the treatment of superficial dermatitis of the external ear and auditory canal in animals, Otidez should be applied with a swab moistened with a small amount of the drug, 2-3 times a day to the affected area. Applied until clinical recovery. It is allowed to use Otidez with other etiotropic and pathogenetic drugs.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug in accordance with the instructions, it is not observed. In case of individual intolerance to the components of the drug and the manifestation of allergic reactions, the use of the drug should be discontinued and symptomatic therapy with antihistamines should be carried out.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use Otidez in case of perforation of the tympanic membrane and hypersensitivity to the components of the drug (including a history). Application during pregnancy and lactating animals during lactation is carried out only under the supervision of a veterinarian. Otidez should not be administered concurrently with other antibiotics and acaricidal drugs.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

In sealed manufacturer's packaging, in a dry, dark place, out of reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed, at temperatures from 0 В° C to + 25 В° C. The shelf life, subject to storage conditions in a closed manufacturer's packaging, is 2 years from the date of manufacture, after opening the bottle no more than 25 days. The date of manufacture is indicated on the packaging. Do not use after the expiration date.

PACKAGING
