Pharmacological action of

Pharmacodynamics of

Hepa-Merz is involved in the ornithine Krebs urea cycle (urea biosynthesis from ammonia). Promotes the production of insulin and STH. Improves detoxification function of the liver, lowers elevated plasma ammonia levels. Improves protein metabolism in diseases requiring parenteral nutrition.

Pharmacokinetics

Dissociates into ornithine and aspartate, which are absorbed in the small intestine by active transport through the intestinal epithelium. It is excreted in the urine through a urea cycle.

Indications

Acute and chronic liver disease accompanied by hyperammonemia. Hepatic encephalopathy (latent and severe). Steatoses and steatohepatitis (of various origins).

Contraindications

Severe renal failure (serum creatinine> 3 mg / 1 dl)

Lactation (breastfeeding)

Hypersensitivity to the drug.

Use during pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy, the use of Hepa-Merz is possible only under strict medical supervision. At the time of treatment, breast-feeding should be stopped

Special instructions

If you experience nausea or vomiting, reduce the rate of administration of the drug.

Dosage and administration

Inside, after eating, 1 sachet of granulate, previously dissolved in 200 ml of liquid, 2-3 times a day.

Side effects
