Pharmacological action

Picamilon - a nootropic drug that dilates the vessels of the brain. It also has a tranquilizing, psychostimulating, antiplatelet and antioxidant effect. Picamilon improves the functional state of the brain due to the normalization of tissue metabolism and the effect on cerebral circulation (increases the volumetric and linear velocity of cerebral blood flow, reduces the resistance of cerebral vessels, inhibits platelet aggregation, improves microcirculation).

During the course of administration, Picamilon increases physical and mental performance, reduces headache, improves memory, normalizes sleep, and helps to reduce or eliminate feelings of anxiety, tension, and fear, and improves the condition of patients with motor and speech disorders.

Indications

Cerebrovascular insufficiency, asthenia, depressive disorders in the elderly.

Conditions accompanied by anxiety, fear, increased irritability, emotional lability. Asthenic conditions caused by various neuropsychic diseases.

Active ingredient: picamilon 50 mg

Excipients: potato starch - 46.78 mg, corn starch - 1.47 mg, magnesium hydroxycarbonate (basic magnesium carbonate) - 38.82 mg, sucrose - 106, 38 mg, calcium stearate - 2.50 mg, talc - 4.05 mg.

Dosage and administration

Inside, regardless of food intake. In cerebrovascular diseases, a single dose is 20-50 mg 2-3 times a day, a daily dose is 60-150 mg. The course of treatment is 1-2 months. Repeated course - after 5-6 months. Depressive states of late age - 40-200 mg per day for 2-3 doses, the optimal interval is 60-120 mg per day, for 1.5-3 months. As antiasthenic and anxiolytic drugs - 40-80 mg per day, if necessary - up to 200-300 mg per day, for 1-1.5 months. With alcoholism during withdrawal period - 100-150 mg per day, with a short course of 6-7 days for more persistent disorders outside withdrawal symptoms - a daily dose of 40-60 mg for 4-5 weeks. To stop acute uncomplicated intoxication with ethanol as part of complex therapy, a saturating dose of 5 mg / kg and a supporting dose of 1.56 mg / kg / h in a volume of 2.5 l of the infusion solution is administered for 4 hours in the morning and evening.
