Normax eye / ear drops 0.3%, 5 ml

Treatment of acute and chronic infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the drug:

  • conjunctivitis (including gonococcal);

  • keratitis;

  • keratoconjunctivitis;

  • corneal ulcer;

  • blepharitis;

  • blepharoconjunctivitis;

  • trachoma;

  • otitis externa;

  • acute and chronic otitis media;

  • internal otitis media;

  • infectious eustachitis.

  • Prevention of eye infections after removal of a foreign body from the cornea or conjunctiva, after damage by chemical or physical means, before and after surgery.

  • Prevention of infectious otitis media before and after surgery, with ear injuries, removal of a foreign body from the external auditory canal, accompanied by damage to the ear tissues.

Assign 1-2 drops to the affected eye or ear 4 times / day. If necessary, on the first day of use, the dose can be increased to 1-2 drops every 2 hours. After the symptoms of the disease disappear, the use of the drug should be continued for the next 48 hours.

In acute and chronic trachoma, 2 drops are prescribed in each eye 2-4 times / day for 1-2 months. Before instilling Normax drops into the ear, the external auditory canal should be sanitized. The drops should be at body temperature. The patient should lie on one side or tilt his head back to facilitate instillation.

After instillation, the drops must be allowed to drain into the ear canal by pulling the earlobe down and back. The head should be kept in this position for about 2 minutes. Can be placed in the external auditory canal with cotton wool.

Eye and ear drops 0.3% in the form of a transparent, colorless or slightly yellow solution, free from any particles.

Excipients: disodium edetate, sodium chloride, benzalkonium chloride, glacial acetic acid, water d / i.

Hypersensitivity to norfloxaccine and other quinolone drugs.

It is not recommended to prescribe the drug during pregnancy, lactation, as well as children and adolescents under the age of 18 years.

pharmachologic effect

An antibacterial drug from the fluoroquinolone group. Possesses a wide spectrum of bactericidal action. Inhibits the enzyme DNA gyrase of bacteria, as a result of which DNA replication and the synthesis of bacterial cellular proteins are disrupted. Highly active against gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp., Shigella spp., Proteus spp. (indole positive and indole negative), Morganella morganii, Citrobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Enterobacter spp., Yersinia enterocolitica, Vibrio spp., Campylobacter spp., Hafnia spp., Providencia stuartii., Haemophilteus influenza spp., Legionella pneumophila, Neisseria spp., Moraxella catarrhalis, Acinetobacter spp., Brucella spp., Chlamydia spp. Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp.,Corynebacterium diphtheriae, Listeria monocitogenes.

Pharmacokinetics

Pharmacokinetic studies of the drug Normax have not been conducted due to low systemic absorption.

Side effect

From the digestive system: nausea, heartburn, anorexia, diarrhea, abdominal pain. From the side of the central nervous system: headache, dizziness, fatigue, sleep disorders, irritability, anxiety. Allergic reactions: skin rash, itching, Quincke's edema.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

It is not recommended to use the drug during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Application in children

The drug is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

special instructions

Normax is intended for topical use only. To achieve the best therapeutic effect, drops should be used in combination with systemic antimicrobial therapy (except in mild cases). The solution and dropper should be protected from contamination.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and use mechanisms

Within 30 minutes after instilling the drug in the eyes, one should refrain from engaging in potentially hazardous activities that require increased attention.

Overdose

Possible symptoms of accidental ingestion of drops inside: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, anxiety. Treatment: if necessary, carry out symptomatic therapy; it is necessary to ensure a sufficient flow of fluid into the body, the creation of an acidic urine reaction to prevent crystalluria.

Norfloxacin solution is incompatible with drugs with a pH value of 3-4, which are physically or chemically unstable.
