Local contraception.

The suppository is inserted into the vagina as deeply as possible, not less than 10 minutes and not earlier than 1 hour before the start of intercourse. Description :
White or colorless homogeneous torpedo-shaped suppositories without visible inclusions on the longitudinal section.

Pharmacotherapeutic group : topical contraceptive.

Pharmacological properties
Pharmacodynamics :
Nopoxipol is a nonionic surfactant compound, its spermicidal effect is due to fragmentation and decreased sperm motility. Possesses bactericidal activity against gonococci and chlamydia. In vitro is active against HIV infections, however, there is no clinical evidence of a reduction in the risk of HIV infection with the use of ponoxynol. Lactic acid has a beneficial effect on normal microflora and vaginal mucosa.
When using a suppository, the concentration of ponoxynol in the vagina is on average 1-1.7%, which is sufficient for the manifestation of spermicidal activity.
The spermicidal action of the suppository occurs after its dissolution, about 10 minutes after insertion into the vagina, and lasts no more than 2 hours.
When using the drug, no foam is formed.
Pharmacokinetics : There are no
data on the pharmacokinetics of ponoxynol in humans.

Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity to drug components; cervical erosion; salpingo-oophoritis; colpitis; vaginitis; anomalies in the development of the vagina, making it difficult to use the drug.

Pregnancy and lactation :
Not applicable during pregnancy.
It can be used for contraception during lactation.

Side effect :
Rarely - dermatitis, itching, burning of the woman's vagina or partner's penis.

Interaction with other drugs :

Special instructions :
