Pharmacological action
Antimicrobial agent, derivative of nitrofuran. Active against gram-positive bacteria: Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Bacillus anthracis gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp. (including Salmonella paratyphi).
Indications
Purulent wounds, pressure sores, ulcers, burns of the II and III degree, osteomyelitis, empyema of the pleura, anaerobic infection of the wound surface, furuncle of the external auditory canal, empyema of the paranasal sinuses.
Contraindications
Allergic dermatoses, hypersensitivity to nitrofural and other nitrofuran derivatives.
Special instructions
For the preparation of an aqueous solution, 1 part of nitrofural is dissolved in 5000 parts of an isotonic solution of sodium chloride or distilled water. The finished solution can be stored for a long time.
Composition

Excipients: tartaric acid - 300 mg, sodium bicarbonate - 390 mg, sodium carbonate - 330 mg, sodium chloride - 100 mg, macrogol 4000 - 60 mg.
Dosage and administration
For purulent wounds, pressure sores, ulcers, burns, to prepare the granulating surface for skin transplants and for the application of a secondary suture, irrigate the wound with an aqueous nitrofural solution and apply wet dressings. In osteomyelitis, after the operation, the cavity is washed with an aqueous solution of nitrofural and a wet dressing is applied. With empyema, pleura is sucked off by pus and the pleural cavity is washed, followed by the introduction of 20-100 ml of an aqueous nitrofural solution into the cavity.
Side effects
Possible: local allergic reactions, dermatitis.
Storage conditions
In a dry, dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 РC. Keep out of the reach of children.
