DESCRIPTION

Nitox Forte is a drug for the treatment of cattle with diseases of bacterial etiology. Dosage form - injection solution. In appearance, the drug is a viscous liquid from green-brown to dark brown.

COMPOSITION

1 ml of the drug contains as active substances oxytetracycline (in the form of a dihydrate) - 300 mg, flunixin meglumine - 20 mg, as auxiliary substances magnesium oxide (prolongator) - 20 mg, rongalite (sodium sulfoxylate formaldehyde) - 6 mg, N -methyl pyrrolidone - up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Nitox Forte belongs to the group of combined antibacterial drugs.

Oxytetracycline dihydrate, an antibiotic from the group of tetracyclines, which is part of the drug, acts bacteriostatically on most gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including streptococci, staphylococci, corynebacteria, clostridia, erysipelotrix, pasteurella, fusobacteria, salmonella, acydomacillus and spirochetes.

The mechanism of action of oxytetracycline is to suppress protein synthesis of microorganisms. Long-term (prolonged) action of the drug is due to the complex of oxytetracycline dihydrate with magnesium. When administered intramuscularly, oxytetracycline dihydrate is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and reaches maximum concentrations in organs and tissues 30-50 minutes after administration.

Flunixin, which is part of the drug, is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agent, is a non-selective inhibitor of cyclooxygenases (COX1 and COX2), inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins E2 - inflammation mediators, which causes its analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and anti-toxin action against bacteria. After parenteral administration, flunixin is rapidly absorbed from the injection site and penetrates into most organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in the blood after 5-45 minutes.

Oxytetracycline dihydrate is excreted from the body mainly with urine and bile, in lactating animals - partly with milk. Flunixin is excreted from the body mainly in feces and to a lesser extent in urine.

Nitox Forte, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

INDICATIONS

Nitox Forte is used in cattle for the treatment of infectious diseases caused by pathogens sensitive to oxytetracycline, including: respiratory diseases, pleurisy, pneumonia, pasteurellosis, keratoconjunctivitis, hoof rot, purulent arthritis, abscess, peritonitis, wound and postpartum infections also with secondary infections in viral diseases.

APPLICATION

The drug is administered to animals once deeply intramuscularly at a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight (30 mg of oxytetracycline dihydrate and 2 mg of flunixin per 1 kg of animal weight). If necessary and in case of a chronic course of the disease, repeated administration of the drug is allowed after 5 days.

The maximum dose for administration to one place in cattle is 10 ml. If the volume of the injected solution is more than the specified one, it should be administered to the animal in several places.

At temperatures below 5 В° C, the viscosity of the drug increases slightly and its introduction can be difficult. In this case, it is recommended to warm the solution and syringes to room temperature, which will make it easy to draw the drug into the syringe and administer it to the animals.

The drug is intended for single use.

It is prohibited to use Nitox Forte after the expiration date.

OVERDOSE

In case of an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience a refusal to feed, an inflammatory reaction at the injection site, symptoms of nephropathy, and gastrointestinal bleeding. In this case, intravenous administration of calcium preparations (calcium chloride, calcium borgluconate), symptomatic therapy is recommended.

The peculiarities of the action at the first use of the drug and at its cancellation were not revealed.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed. In some animals, a local inflammatory reaction in the form of erythema and itching may appear at the injection site of the drug, which quickly pass and do not require treatment.

With increased individual sensitivity of the animal to antibiotics of the tetracycline group and the development of a persistent allergic reaction, desensitizing therapy is performed. If anaphylactic shock develops, the animals are prescribed adrenaline, corticosteroids and antihistamines in accordance with the instructions for their use.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 35 days after the last injection of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified periods is used for feeding carnivores.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

It is prohibited to use Nitox Forte for lactating animals whose milk is used for food purposes, as well as for animals with heart, hepatic and renal insufficiency, mycoses, as well as those with hypersensitivity to tetracycline antibiotics and / or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Intravenous and intra-aortic administration of the drug is prohibited.

The medicinal product should not be used simultaneously with estrogens. Due to a pronounced decrease in the antibacterial effect of oxytetracycline, the drug is not recommended to be used simultaneously with antibiotics of the penicillin and cephalosporin series. Do not use the drug at the same time or less than 24 hours before or after using another NSAID or corticosteroid due to the increased risk of ulceration in the gastrointestinal tract.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with Nitox Forte, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicinal products for animals. Do not drink, smoke or eat while working. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.

FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the drug components should avoid direct contact with Nitox Forte. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a dry, dark place, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 24 months from the date of production, after opening the bottle - 28 days.
