Nitox 200 100ml
DESCRIPTION
Nitox 200 is a drug for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases in cattle, pigs, sheep and goats.
COMPOSITION
1 ml of a prolonged injection solution contains 200 mg of oxytetracycline dihydrate in a complex solvent of magnesium oxide, rongalit and monoethanolamine. In appearance, it is a transparent, slightly viscous brown liquid. Available in dark glass bottles of 100 ml.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Oxytetracycline inhibits bacterial protein synthesis at the ribosome level. In the preparation, oxytetracycline is in the form of a complex with magnesium, which causes its long-term effect. The spectrum of action covers the majority of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria: streptococci, staphylococci, corynebacteria, clostridia, erysipelotrix, pasteurella, salmonella, pseudomonas, hemophilus, actinobacterium, shigela, escherichia, rickettsiae and mycoplasma.
When administered intramuscularly, the antibiotic is rapidly resorbed and reaches maximum tissue concentrations 30 to 50 minutes after administration. The therapeutic level of the antibiotic in the tissues is maintained for 60 to 72 hours. Oxytetracycline is excreted mainly in the urine and bile, in lactating animals with milk.
INDICATIONS
Prevention and therapy of infectious diseases that are caused by pathogens sensitive to oxytetracycline, as well as the prevention and treatment of secondary infections in viral diseases.
Cattle - respiratory diseases, mastitis, pasteurellosis, hoof rot, keratoconjunctivitis, wound infections, anaplasmosis.
Pigs - respiratory diseases, pasteurellosis, pleurisy, mastitis, atrophic rhinitis, erysipelas, MMA syndrome, purulent arthritis, umbilical sepsis, abscess, wound and postpartum infections.
Sheep, goats - respiratory diseases, enzootic abortion, hoof rot, mastitis, peritonitis, wound infections.
APPLICATION
Nitox 200 is injected once intramuscularly in a dose of 1 ml per 10 kg of animal weight. The maximum volume of the drug for administration in one place should not exceed 20 ml for cattle, 10 ml for pigs, and 5 ml for sheep, goats. If necessary, the drug is re-administered after 72 hours.
SIDE EFFECTS
After the injection of Nitox 200, allergic reactions are possible - erythema, itching at the injection site, which quickly pass without intervention. If necessary (overdose or persistent allergic reactions), intravenous administration of calcium preparations (calcium chloride, calcium borgluconate) is recommended.
Slaughter of animals for meat, which used Nitox 200, is allowed 21 days after administration of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period is used for feeding carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal. Milk should not be eaten within 7 days after drug administration. Such milk can be used for feeding animals after heat treatment.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the drug. It is forbidden to administer to pregnant females and animals during the first months of life. It is not allowed to administer to dogs, cats, horses, as well as animals with renal insufficiency.
It is not recommended to use Nitox 200 simultaneously with corticosteroids and estrogens. Due to the pronounced decrease in the antibacterial effect of oxytetracycline, it should not be used simultaneously with antibiotics of the penicillin and cephalosporin series.
STORAGE
With caution, in a dark place at temperatures between 0 В° C and 20 В° C. The shelf life is 18 months.
