Pharmacological action
Pinosol has an anti-inflammatory, decongestant effect, reduces the viscosity of the secretion of the mucous membrane of the respiratory tract. It shows antibacterial activity against certain strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (S. pyogenes, S.aureus, S. epidermidis, M. luteus, B. cereus, E. coli), as well as the antifungal effect against yeast and mold fungi (Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger).
Indications
acute rhinitis
chronic atrophic rhinitis
acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the mucous membranes of the nose and nasopharynx, accompanied by dryness of the mucous membranes of the nose
state after surgery in the hospital and under normal conditions.
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug
allergic rhinitis
children's age (up to 2 years).
Use during pregnancy and lactation
It is possible to use Pinosol during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding) according to indications.
Composition of
10 g of ointment contains:
Active ingredients: eucalyptus oil -0.4325 g, Pine oil -0.685 g, menthol - 0.7225 g, thymol-0.02175 g, tocopherol acetate - 0.2885 g
Optionally, ancillary agents: , white petroleum jelly, white wax.
Dosage and administration
For adults and children 2 years of age and older, the drug is applied in an amount of approximately 0.5 cm in each nasal passage to the surface of the mucous membrane of the anterior nasal cavity. For the introduction, you can use a cotton swab (a stick wrapped at the end with a ball of cotton wool). Then, with moderate pressure on the wings of the nose, the ointment is rubbed on the mucous membrane.
The procedure is repeated 3-4 times a day. The duration of treatment is 7-14 days. An increase in the duration of treatment is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.
Side effects
Local reactions: itching, burning sensation, hyperemia and swelling of the mucous membrane of the nasal cavity.
Storage conditions
In the dark place at a temperature of no higher than 25 РC.
