A mole trap is an inexpensive but very effective tool for those gardeners who suffer from the invasion of moles and shrews. And although these creatures in ordinary life are quite cute, in relation to the harvest they can be simply ruthless, literally destroying everything in their path.

The principle of operation of the trap is push, because the mole is practically blind, and everything that comes its way, it tries to push it away. Mole traps are usually placed at night (the time of greatest activity) and checked in the morning. For successful fight against moles, 5-6 pairs of mole traps are desirable in several places. In one summer, 10-15 moles can be caught at each turn.

MODE OF APPLICATION

Mole traps are installed in the moles' passages. Between the molehills (hills of the earth) there is a direct connecting passage.

To begin with, you need to find the most visited moves and use them to install mole traps (walk along the mole piles and trample them, those moves in which the mole passed will regain the pushed out ground), using a knife, feeling for a move, cut out a layer of earth (40-50 cm.), so that two mole traps fit into the resulting hole.

Load the mole catcher by cocking the clamping frame against the action of the spring and fix it with the hook of the 'latch'. The latch hook should easily come off the hold-down bar from a slight jolt. The frame impact force is adjusted by pulling it vertically upwards and then returning it to its place.

Install the mole catchers (with the input rings in opposite directions relative to each other) into the mole stroke, so that the 'latch' with its lower part would not rest against the ground.

The mole trap can be fixed in position with a wooden peg passed through a snap ring and driven into the side of the stroke.

The wormhole is closed with the same layer of earth, slightly trimmed from below or with a board. ATTENTION! Take care of your hands when installing mole traps.
