DESCRIPTION
Miloklox LA is a veterinary non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic agent for cattle, pigs and horses. Dosage form: injection solution. In appearance it is a clear solution of light yellow color.
COMPOSITION
The drug is 1.0 cm? as an active ingredient contains meloxicam - 20.0 mg, as well as auxiliary substances: ethyl alcohol, meglumine, glycine, poloxamer 188, sodium chloride, polyethylene glycol 300, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid and water for injection up to 1.0 cm ?.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Meloxicam, which is part of the drug, belongs to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory and antirheumatic drugs (NSAIDs) from the oxicam class (a derivative of enolic acid) and has anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and antipyretic effects. Meloxicam reduces leukocyte infiltration in inflamed tissues.
The drug reduces the synthesis of prostaglandins by selective inhibition of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). Slightly affects cyclooxygenase-1 (COX-1), thus minimizing side effects such as ulceration, bleeding, and renal dysfunction.
After parenteral administration of meloxicam, its maximum plasma concentrations in wines are reached after 1 hour, in young cattle and lactating cows - after 7.7 and 4 hours, respectively.
In the body, more than 98% of meloxicam binds to blood plasma proteins. The highest concentrations of meloxicam are found in the liver and kidneys, and lower concentrations in skeletal muscle and adipose tissue.
About 50% of the administered dose of meloxicam is excreted in the urine in the form of metabolites, the remaining amount in feces.
The drug is prohibited for simultaneous use with glucocorticosteroids, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and anticoagulants.
PURPOSE
Miloklox LA is used in cattle, pigs and horses as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent in complex therapy.
APPLICATION
The drug is prescribed for cattle with acute infectious diseases of the respiratory system (in combination with antibacterial drugs); with acute mastitis (in combination with antibacterial drugs); with inflammatory processes of musculoskeletal cattle (in combination with rehydration therapy); when removing horns (decornation) from calves as an anesthetic in the postoperative period. In this case, the drug is administered 20 minutes before the operation.
Miloklox LA is administered subcutaneously or intravenously at a dose of 2.5 cm? / 100 kg of animal body weight, once. The maximum volume of subcutaneous injection injected into one site should not exceed 10.0 cm2.
Pigs - for diseases of the musculoskeletal system of a non-infectious nature; in the treatment of postpartum sepsis and toxemia (metritis-mastitis-agalactia syndrome) in combination with antibacterial drugs.
The drug is administered intramuscularly at a dose of 2.0 cm? / 100 kg of animal body weight, once. If indicated, the introduction is repeated after 24 hours. The maximum volume of intramuscular injection injected into one place should not exceed 2.0 cm2.
Horses - for acute and chronic diseases of the musculoskeletal system; for colic associated with diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, as an anesthetic.
The drug is administered intravenously at a dose of 3.0 cm2 / 100 kg of animal body weight, once.
In case of insufficient analgesic effect with colic, it is recommended to check the diagnosis in order to exclude the need for surgical intervention.
Appropriate contamination prevention measures must be followed when using the product.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Use the drug with caution (due to the possible development of toxic effects on the kidneys) to animals in conditions requiring parenteral rehydration - severe dehydration, decreased total blood volume (hypovolemia) or hypotension.
Slaughter of cattle for meat is allowed after 15 days, pigs and horses - 5 days after the last injection of the drug. Meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding carnivores.
Milk of cows for food purposes may be used 5 days after the last injection of the drug. Milk obtained before the expiration of the prescribed period is boiled and used for animal feed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Miloklox LA is prohibited for use: for animals with known hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, with impaired liver, kidney, cardiovascular system, a tendency to bleeding and signs of ulcerative lesions of the gastrointestinal tract; for the treatment of calves less than 1 week old with diseases manifested by diarrheal syndrome; foals less than 6 weeks of age; foal and lactating mares.
OVERDOSE
In case of overdose, symptomatic treatment should be prescribed.
SIDE EFFECTS
As a rule, side effects and complications are not observed when using the Miloclox LA preparation in accordance with this instruction. In cattle and horses, a local reaction is possible - a temporary swelling at the injection site that does not require special treatment. In very rare cases, an anaphylactoid reaction is possible, treatment should be carried out symptomatically.
PRECAUTIONS
When working with the drug, you should follow the rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with veterinary medicinal products. People with known hypersensitivity to non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs should avoid contact with the drug.

In case of accidental injection, you should immediately consult a doctor and show the instructions for use.
STORAGE
Store in closed manufacturer's packaging, in a dry, dark place, separate from food and feed at temperatures from + 2 В° C to + 25 В° C. Shelf life, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of production. After opening the package - the shelf life is 28 days.
