DESCRIPTION

Metrobiotic is a drug for the prevention and treatment of postpartum infections of the genital organs in cows, mares, pigs, sheep and goats. In appearance, it is an oval-shaped, light yellow tablet.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Antimicrobial and antiseptic agents for use in gynecology. Metrobiotic, due to the complex of its antimicrobial drugs (neomycin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride and nystatin), has a wide spectrum of action against pathogens of postpartum infections of the genital organs of farm animals of bacterial and fungal etiology.

Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic that has a bactericidal effect mainly against gram-negative bacteria (E. Coli, Enterobacter, Klebsiella, Salmonella, Shigella, Proteus) and a number of some gram-positive bacteria.

Oxytetracycline is a broad-spectrum antibiotic from the tetracyclines group, which is active against many gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Micrococcus, Bacillus, Corynebacterium, Campylobacter) and protozoa (Trichomonas vaginalis).

Nystatin is an antibiotic used as an antifungal agent for diseases of internal organs (candidiasis).

According to the degree of impact on the body, the medicinal product belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

COMPOSITION

The drug contains the active ingredients neomycin sulfate, oxytetracycline hydrochloride, nystatin and a filler.

INDICATIONS

It is used for the prevention and treatment of postpartum infections of the genital organs in cows, mares, pigs, sheep and goats caused by pathogens sensitive to neomycin, oxytetracycline and nystatin.

APPLICATION

The tablets are injected through the cervical canal into its cavity using a forceps or a hand wearing a disposable plastic glove. In case of increased dryness of the uterus, the amount of intrauterine fluid can be increased by injecting 150-200 ml of sterile saline into the uterus for normal foaming.

For prophylactic purposes, in 2 - 4 hours after giving birth, cows and mares are injected into the uterus of 1 - 3 tablets, sows 1 - 2 tablets, ewes and goats - 1 tablet twice with an interval of 48 hours. For therapeutic purposes, the drug is administered in the same doses every 24 hours until recovery.

Before the introduction of the drug, the external organs are sanitized.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindication to the use of the drug is an individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside and tetracycline antibiotics.

OVERDOSE

Overdose symptoms when using the drug have not been established.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Failure to comply with the recommended interval with repeated administration of the drug may lead to a decrease in its effectiveness. When the next dose of the drug is missed, its use is resumed as soon as possible in the same dosage and according to the same scheme.

Milk from productive animals during the treatment period, within 24 hours after the last injection of the drug, is not allowed for human consumption. Milk obtained during these periods can be used for feeding animals.

Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 3 days after the end of the drug administration. Meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the specified period can be used for feeding carnivores or for making meat and bone meal.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects and complications when prescribing the drug in accordance with the instructions have not been established.

PRECAUTIONS

When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with drugs. It is prohibited to drink, smoke or eat. After handling the drug, wash your hands with soap and water. It is forbidden to use empty containers from the preparation for household purposes; it must be disposed of with household waste.

If the drug gets on the skin and / or mucous membranes, it is recommended to rinse them with plenty of running water. If accidentally swallowed, give the victim a large amount of water (4-5 glasses) to drink and induce vomiting. In case of allergic reactions, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug and a label with you).

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The drug is stored in a closed manufacturer's packaging in a dry, dark place, out of the reach of children, at a temperature from + 5 В° C to + 25 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. Do not use the drug after the expiration date.

PACKAGING

The preparation is produced hermetically packed in foil with thermal varnish or in food-grade polyethylene film. Tablets in individual packaging are placed in 20 pieces in jars made of polymer material.
