DESCRIPTION
Metrikur is an antibacterial medicine for cows. It is an oily, cream-colored, homogeneous suspension for intrauterine administration.
COMPOSITION
The drug in 1 g contains 500 mg of cefapirin in the form of benzathine salt as an active ingredient and auxiliary components: coconut oil, hydrogenated castor oil, emulsin and cetomacrogol.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Cefapirin, which is part of metricur, belongs to the first generation antibiotics of the cephalosporin group and has a wide spectrum of bactericidal action against gram-positive and some gram-negative microorganisms, including Staphylococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, Escherichia pneumoniae, Escherichia pneumoniae, Cefapirin interferes with the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, inhibits the enzymes transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase and causes an imbalance in the osmotic balance, which leads to the death of the bacterium during the growth stage. The antibiotic is resistant to the action of the enzyme penicillinase. When used intrauterinely, cefapirin easily penetrates into the endometrial tissue, where it provides a minimum inhibitory concentration for 24 hours.
INDICATIONS
Assign to cattle for the treatment of subacute and chronic endometritis.
APPLICATION
Before the introduction of the drug, the external genital organs and the root of the tail are sanitized. If necessary, release from inflammatory exudate. Shake the contents of the syringe vigorously before use. Metrikur is administered to cows in the uterine cavity at a dose of 19 g (contents of one syringe) not earlier than 14 days after calving. If necessary, the treatment is repeated after 7-14 days at the same dose. For the treatment of latent forms of endometritis, the drug is administered 6-24 hours after insemination.
SIDE EFFECTS
With proper use and dosage, side effects are usually not observed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Increased individual sensitivity to cephalosporins. It is forbidden to use metricur during pregnancy and in the first 14 days after calving. Do not prescribe concurrently with antibiotics of other groups.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed 24 hours after the last injection of the drug. The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period can be used for feeding fur-bearing animals or for the production of meat and bone meal. Milk from cows that were used metricur is allowed for consumption without restrictions.
STORAGE
Store in a dry, dark place and out of reach of children and animals at temperatures from + 2 В° РЎ to + 25 В° РЎ. The shelf life is 3 years.
