pharmachologic effect
Possesses anabolic activity. It has a hematopoietic, leukopoietic, immunostimulating, anti-inflammatory effect. By normalizing nucleic acid metabolism, it accelerates the processes of regeneration in wounds, accelerating the growth and granulation maturation of tissue and epithelization (including in rapidly proliferating cells of the mucous membrane of the gastrointestinal tract), stimulates erythro- and leukopoiesis, cellular and humoral factors of immunity.
Indications
Leukopenia (mild forms, including those resulting from chemotherapy of malignant neoplasms, during X-ray and radiation therapy), agranulocytic angina, alimentary toxic aleukia, anemia, thrombocytopenia, benzene intoxication, radiation sickness, convalescence (after severe infections), peptic ulcer stomach and duodenum (as part of combination therapy), sluggish wounds, burns, bone fractures, hepatitis, pancreatitis.
Dosage regimen
Inside, during or after meals.
Adults - 500 mg 4 times a day. (if necessary - up to 6 times a day, the maximum daily dose is 3 g);
Children from 3 to 8 years old - 250 mg 3 times a day. (the maximum daily dose is 750 mg);
Children from 8 to 14 years old - 250-500 mg 3 times a day. (the maximum daily dose is 1.5 g).
The course for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract - 30-40 days; in other cases it may be shorter.
Side effect
Allergic reactions, headache, dizziness, heartburn.
Contraindications for use
Hypersensitivity, leukemia (leukemic forms, especially myeloid), lymphogranulomatosis, hemoblastosis, malignant neoplasms of the bone marrow, children up to 3 years of age.
Application during pregnancy and lactation
During pregnancy and lactation, the intended benefit to the mother and the potential risk to the fetus and child should be weighed.
Application in children
Contraindicated in children under 3 years of age.
Overdose
In clinical use, cases of overdose have not been registered until this time.
Drug interactions
Enhances the anti-radiation effect of cystamine.
