DESCRIPTION

Meradok is a new generation of avermectin antiparasitic drug that overcomes resistance to ivermectin and provides ultra-long-term protection against reinfection. The drug is a clear liquid from light yellow to yellow.

COMPOSITION

Solution for injection contains 10 mg of doramectin as active ingredient in 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Meradok belongs to the systemic antiparasitic drugs of the new generation of macrocyclic lactones. Has a wide spectrum of insecticidal, nematodicidal and acaricidal action; active against nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, subcutaneous tissue, gadfly larvae, as well as lice, sarcoptoid and ixodid ticks.

Doramectin, which is part of the drug, binds to receptors of cells of muscle and nervous tissue, increases the permeability of membranes for chlorine ions, causing a blockade of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of parasites. Doramectin is easily absorbed from the injection site, enters the systemic circulation, organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration within 4-5 days, it remains in the body for a long time, ensuring the protection of animals from parasitic diseases and reinvasion for 28 days. It is excreted from the body mainly unchanged with feces.

According to the degree of impact on the body, the drug belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 in accordance with GOST 12.1.007), in the recommended doses it does not have mutagenic, embryotoxic and teratogenic effects.

INDICATIONS

Used in cattle, sheep and pigs for the treatment and prevention of diseases caused by nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract, lungs, subcutaneous tissue, lacrimal ducts, larvae of subcutaneous and nasopharyngeal gadflies, lice, scabies and ixodid ticks.

DOSES AND METHOD OF APPLICATION

Meradok is administered to animals once parenterally in compliance with the rules of asepsis, using dry sterile syringes and needles, in the following doses:

cattle - subcutaneously in the neck area 1 ml of solution per 50 kg of animal weight (corresponds to 0.2 mg of doramectin per 1 kg of body weight);

sheep - intramuscularly into the neck or posterior femoral muscle group 1 ml of solution per 50 kg of animal weight (corresponds to 0.2 mg of doramectin per 1 kg of weight);

pigs - intramuscularly at the base of the ear 1 ml of solution per 33 kg of animal weight (corresponds to 0.3 mg of doramectin per 1 kg of weight).

When processing animals at temperatures below 5 В° C, due to a slight increase in the viscosity of the solution, to facilitate its use, it is recommended to warm the bottle with the drug and syringes to room temperature.

Before mass processing of animals, the drug is preliminarily tested on a small group (5-7 heads) of animals. In the absence of complications within 3 days, they begin to process the entire livestock.

The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and withdrawal were not revealed. The drug is intended for single use.

In case of an overdose of the drug, animals may experience depression, refusal to feed, tremors, and increased salivation. There are no specific means of detoxification, general measures are used to remove the drug from the body.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug Meradok in accordance with the instructions, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not noted. In the event of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic therapy are prescribed.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

A contraindication to use is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including a history). The drug should not be used by patients with infectious diseases and malnourished animals. In connection with the release of doramectin in milk, it is prohibited to use the drug Meradok for dairy cows, as well as pregnant cows less than 60 days before the expected calving, for milking, as well as pregnant sheep less than 70 days before the expected lambing.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

Meradok should not be used concurrently with medicinal products containing macrocyclic lactones, due to the possible mutual enhancement of the toxic effect. There is no information on the interaction of Meradok with drugs of other pharmacological groups.

Slaughter of cattle and sheep for meat is allowed no earlier than 70 days, pigs - no earlier than 77 days after drug administration. In the event of the forced slaughter of animals before the established deadlines, the meat can be used as feed for fur animals.

PERSONAL PREVENTION MEASURES

When working with Meradok, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicines. Do not drink, smoke or eat while working. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug Meradok should avoid direct contact with it. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of a drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you). Empty vials from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's closed packaging, protected from light, out of reach of children and animals, separately from food and feed at a temperature of 5 В° C to 30 В° C. The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 3 years from the date of production, after the first opening of the bottle - 90 days. It is forbidden to use the drug with an expired shelf life. Unused medicinal product is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.

Meradok is released in the form of a sterile solution packaged in 100 ml glass bottles. Each packing unit is supplied with instructions for use.
