Pharmacological action
Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.
It has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antipyretic effects.
Indications
Rheumatoid arthritis osteoarthrosis ankylosing spondylitis (ankylosing spondylitis) and other inflammatory and degenerative joint diseases accompanied by pain. Designed for symptomatic therapy, reducing pain and inflammation at the time of use does not affect the progression of the disease.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity (including other NSAIDs), the “aspirin” triad (a combination of bronchial asthma, recurrent nasal polyposis and paranasal sinuses and intolerance of the acetylsalicylic acid and duodenal ulcer and pyrezole ulcers) gastrointestinal, cerebrovascular or other bleeding, severe heart failure, severe liver failure, severe renal failure (if hemodialysis is not performed), pregnancy, breastfeeding, age up to 15 years.
Special instructions
Caution should be exercised when using the drug in patients with a history of gastric or duodenal ulcer, as well as in patients undergoing anticoagulant therapy. Such patients have an increased risk of erosive and ulcerative diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
Caution should be exercised and renal function indicators monitored when using the drug in elderly patients, patients with chronic heart failure with symptoms of insufficient circulation, in patients with cirrhosis of the liver, as well as in patients with hypovolemia as a result of surgical interventions.
In patients with renal failure, if creatinine clearance is more than 25 ml / min, dosage adjustment is not required.
In patients on dialysis, the dosage of the drug should not exceed 7.5 mg / day.
Patients taking both diuretics and meloxicam should take enough fluids.
If an allergic reaction occurs during treatment (itching, skin rash, urticaria, photosensitivity), you must stop taking the drug and consult a doctor.

Dosing and Administration
Meloxicam is taken orally, with meals, without chewing, at a dose of 7.5-15 mg once a day.
