Pharmacological action
Melarithm® - is a synthetic analogue of the hormone of the pineal gland (pineal gland).
Normalizes circadian rhythms.
Regulates the sleep-wake cycle.
Promotes the normalization of night sleep (speeds up falling asleep, improves sleep quality, reduces the number of night awakenings, improves health after morning awakening, does not cause a feeling of lethargy and fatigue upon awakening).
Adapts the body to a quick change of time zones, reduces stress reactions.
It exhibits immunostimulating and pronounced antioxidant properties.
Indications
sleep disorders, including due to a disturbance in the rhythm of sleep-wakefulness, such as desynchronosis (a sharp change in time zones).
Contraindications
hypersensitivity to the components of the drug
autoimmune diseases
liver failure
severe renal failure sddl up to 18 years old.
Pregnancy and lactation
No clinical data are available on the effects of melatonin on pregnancy. Preclinical studies do not indicate an adverse effect on pregnancy, fetal development, delivery, or postnatal development of newborns. Due to the lack of clinical data, the use of the drug Melarithm during pregnancy and women planning a pregnancy is not recommended.
Breastfeeding period
Due to this. Since endogenous melatonin is detected in breast milk, it is likely that exogenous melatonin can also pass into breast milk. Data from animals, including rodents, sheep, cattle, and primates, indicate transmission of melatonin through the placenta or milk from mother to fetus. opadray II (polyvinyl alcohol - 2.4 mg, titanium dioxide - 1.5 mg, macrogol - 1.212 mg, talc - 0.888 mg).
Dosage and Administration
Inside. Adults 1.5-3 mg 30-40 minutes before bedtime once a day.
As an adaptogen when changing time zones: 1 day before the flight and in the next 2-5 days, 3 mg 30-40 minutes before bedtime.
Maximum daily dose of up to 6 mg per day.
Side effects of
From the immune system: allergic reactions.
From the central nervous system: headache, morning drowsiness.
From the digestive system: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
Misc: swelling in the first week of admission.
Drug Interaction
Melatonin enhances the effects of central nervous system depressants and beta-blockers.
