Pharmacological action

Diazolin - a blocker of histamine H1 receptors.

It has antiallergic, antipruritic, antiexudative, as well as mild sedative effects. It blocks histamine H1 receptors, lowers smooth muscle tone (bronchi, gastrointestinal tract, uterus), reduces capillary permeability and the development of edema, and prevents itching.

Indications

Prevention and treatment of the following conditions: Allergic rhinitis (seasonal, chronic), hay fever.

Allergic conjunctivitis.

Drug allergic reactions.

Urticaria.

Quincke's edema.

Itchy dermatosis (eczema, neurodermatitis).

Skin reaction to insect bites.

Contraindications

Prostatic hypertrophy, angle-closure glaucoma, gastric and duodenal ulcer, inflammatory diseases of the gastrointestinal tract in the acute phase, hypersensitivity to mebhydrolin, children under 2 years of age.

Restrictions on the use of:

Pyloric stenosis, epilepsy, heart rhythm disturbance.

Pregnancy and lactation

Pregnancy and lactation are contraindicated.

Composition

1 tablet contains 50 mg mebhydroline.

Dosage and administration of

Diazolin is prescribed orally after a meal.

Adults and children over 10 years of age: 50-300 mg per day. The maximum single dose is 300 mg, daily - 600 mg.

Children 5-10 years of age: 100-200 mg per day.

Children 2-5 years of age: 50-150 mg per day.

Side effects of the

Fatigue, Dizziness, Paresthesias, tremors when using high doses - slowing down the reaction rate, drowsiness, anxiety (at night), blurred visual perception.

From the organs of the gastrointestinal tract:

Rarely - dry mouth, nausea, heartburn, irritation of the gastric mucosa, epigastric pain, vomiting, constipation.
