DESCRIPTION

Mastkontrol is a solution for the diagnosis of mastitis in cows. In appearance, the drug is a dark green liquid. Slight sediment is allowed.

COMPOSITION

The drug contains sulfonol - 3.0 g, bromothymol blue indicator - 0.05 g, sodium tripolyphosphate - 0.4 g and distilled water - up to 100 ml.

BIOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Sulfonol, as a surfactant, interacting with the DNA of the nuclei of somatic milk cells, forms a clot of various densities during inflammation of the udder. At the same time, due to the change in the pH of the milk, the indicator changes the color of the mixture from dark green to blue.

Mast control in terms of the degree of impact on the body refers to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007).

APPLICATION

Mastcontrol is used to diagnose mastitis and assess the results of treatment by staging a qualitative reaction with a milk sample from each quarter of a cow's udder after 1-2 jets of milk have been milked. Studies should be carried out from the first day after calving, during lactation and starting.

Research is carried out on milk control plates PMK-2. 1 ml of milk is pipetted into the well of the plate, 1 ml of Mastcontrol is added and mixed by rotating the plate in a horizontal plane for 10-15 seconds.

The reaction is taken into account by the degree of formation of a jelly-like clot, which is the main criterion for assessing the reaction with the diagnosticum, and by the change in the color of the mixture.

The reaction is considered negative (-) if the milk mixture with Mastcontrol remains in the form of a homogeneous liquid, and the color of the mixture is from yellow to yellow-orange.

The reaction is considered doubtful if the mixture of milk with the diagnosticum forms an immature jelly (+/-), and the color of the mixture is from yellow to yellow with a greenish tinge.

The reaction is considered positive if the mixture of milk with the diagnosticum forms a formed jelly-like clot that easily slides out of the well, and the color of the mixture is from yellow with a greenish tinge to dark green (+), or a dense clot that is difficult to remove from the plate well, and the color of the mixture from dark green to blue (++).

To differentiate subclinical mastitis from udder irritation that passes without treatment, it is necessary to conduct a second study after 1-2 days. If the reaction persists, the animal is considered sick and should be treated.

PRECAUTIONS

When carrying out diagnostic measures using Mastkontrol, the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with chemicals should be observed. Do not drink, smoke or eat while working with the drug. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap.

People with hypersensitivity to drug components should avoid direct contact with Mastcontrol.

Empty vials and bottles from the preparation must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

FIRST AID MEASURES

In case of accidental contact of the drug on the skin or mucous membranes, they must be washed with running water and soap. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).

STORAGE

Store in closed manufacturer's packaging in a dry, dark place, separate from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 1 year from the date of production.
