Mastilex syringe 10ml
DESCRIPTION
Mastilex is a drug for the treatment of mastitis in cattle and small ruminants.
COMPOSITION
Contains cephalexin monohydrate, gentamicin sulfate and a filler as active ingredients. It is an oily suspension of white or white-yellow color with a content of 35 mg of cephalexin monohydrate and 3.5 mg of gentamicin sulfate in 1 ml. The drug is produced in polyethylene syringes, packaged in 10 ml. Syringes are packed in plastic wrap and in cardboard boxes.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
The antibacterial effect of the drug is due to the effects of antibiotics included in its composition. Cephalexin, from the group of cephalosporins, is active against gram-positive microorganisms. Gentamicin, from the aminoglycoside group, has a bactericidal effect against a wide range of gram-negative microorganisms, and complements the action of cephalexin. The drug, due to the structure of the filler, after intracisternal administration, is quickly distributed throughout the mammary gland, providing an effect on pathogenic microorganisms. It is practically not absorbed from the mammary gland into the organs and tissues of the body, does not undergo biotransformation in the body and is excreted mainly unchanged with milk. Active against bacteria that cause mastitis in cattle and small ruminants: Streptococcus, Staphylococcus, E. coli,
