DESCRIPTION
Mastiet Forte is a drug for the treatment of mastitis in cows during lactation. Preparative form: suspension for intracisternal administration. In appearance, the drug is a yellowish oily suspension.

The drug in 1 syringe-dispenser contains as active ingredients: 200mg of tetracycline (in the form of hydrochloride), 250mg of neomycin (in the form of sulfate), 2000ME of bacitracin and 10mg of prednisolone, as excipients - 368mg of magnesium stearate and up to 8g of petroleum jelly.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Mastiet Forte belongs to the combined antibacterial drugs for intracisternal administration.
The combination of antibiotics that make up Mastiet Forte has a broad spectrum of antibacterial action against the majority of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria most commonly isolated in cow mastitis, including: Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Streptococcus disagalactiae, Streptococcus disagalactiae, Streptococci uberisella spp. , Escherichia coli.
The mechanism of action of the tetracycline and neomycin included in the drug is to inhibit protein synthesis in the bacterial cell. Bacitracip, penetrating into a bacterial cell, binds to receptors on its inner surface and disrupts the synthesis of peptidoglycan, the main component of the cell wall.
Prednisolone is a glucocorticosteroid, possessing anti-inflammatory and anti-allergenic action, which allows to minimize the inflammatory response and edema of the udder tissues. When the drug is injected into the milk tanks, the active substances penetrate into the udder parenchyma, remaining in therapeutic concentrations for 12 hours. Mastiet Forte, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, refers to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76) and does not irritate the udder tissue.
The use of Mastiet Forte does not exclude the use of other drugs for animals, with the exception of drugs for intracisternal administration.
INDICATIONS
Mastiet Forte is intended for the treatment of clinical and subclinical forms of mastitis of bacterial etiology in cows during lactation.
APPLICATION
Mastiet Forte is injected into the affected quarter of the udder of a cow in a single dose of 8 g (contents of 1 syringe-dispenser) 3-4 times with an interval of 12 hours.
Before using the drug, milk (secret) from the diseased quarters of the udder is removed, disinfected and disposed of, the nipple is thoroughly treated with a cleaning cloth (supplied with the drug), then the protective cap is removed, the tip of the syringe-dispenser is inserted into the nipple canal and the contents are carefully squeezed out. After that, the tip is removed, the tip of the nipple is pinched with fingers and the nipple is lightly massaged from the bottom up to better distribute the drug.
