DESCRIPTION
Mamifort Sekado is used for the prevention and treatment of bacterial mastitis in cows during the dry period.
COMPOSITION
As active ingredients it contains (in 1 syringe): ampicillin (trihydrate) - 250 mg and cloxacillin in the form of benzathic acid - 500 mg, and as auxiliary substances - butyl hydroxytoluene (1.6 g), aluminum monostearate (240 mg) and liquid paraffin (8 g).
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacotherapeutic group: antibacterial combined preparation for intracisternal administration.
The combination of sparingly soluble salts of semisynthetic penicillins - ampicillin and cloxacillin, which is part of Mamifort Secado, and a special base provide a prolonged effect of the drug for 4 weeks against the causative agents of mastitis secreted from the secretions of the udder of cows during the dry period, including streptococci, staphylococci, closthylococci. including strains resistant to penicillin! whose resistance is due to E-lactamase.
The bactericidal effect of ampicillin trihydrate and cloxacillin benzathine is based on the inhibition of transpeptidase and carboxypeptidase of microorganisms, which prevents the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leads to disruption of the osmotic balance and death of bacteria.
Mamifort Sekado, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritating effect on breast tissue.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Mamifort Sekado is administered to cows after the last milking before transferring to the dry period, but not later than 42 days before the expected calving, once, intracisternally; 8 g (contents of 1 syringe-dispenser) in each quarter of the udder.
Before the administration of the medicinal product, milk from the diseased quarters of the udder is milked and disposed of, the nipple is treated with a disinfectant solution. The injector cannula is placed into the teat canal and the contents are gently squeezed out into the affected quarter of the udder. Remove the injector and pinch the nipple with your fingers for 1-2 minutes. A light massage of the nipple is carried out for better distribution of the drug.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Overdose symptoms have not been identified.
In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and antihistamines or other symptomatic treatment are prescribed.
Mamifort Sekado should not be administered concurrently with other antibacterial drugs.
For food purposes, milk may be used no earlier than 120 hours after calving. Milk obtained after calving cows before the expiration of the specified period may be used after boiling in animal feed.
Slaughter of animals for meat is allowed no earlier than 28 days after the last injection of Mamifort.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Mamifort Sekado is contraindicated in animals with hypersensitivity to one of the components of the drug.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the medicinal product is 2 years from the date of manufacture. It is forbidden to use Mamifort Sekado after the expiration date. The medicinal product is stored in the manufacturer's sealed packaging in a dry, dark place and not accessible to unauthorized persons, separately from food and feed at a temperature of 4 to 25 В° C.
