Peptic ulcer and duodenal ulcer in the acute phase;
acute gastroduodenitis;
chronic gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretory function in the exacerbation phase;

the phenomena of dyspepsia (and their prevention) resulting from the use of certain drugs (including NSAIDs, GCS);
discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, heartburn with errors in diet, excessive consumption of coffee, alcohol, nicotine.
Maalox is usually taken 1-1.5 hours after a meal or when pain occurs. Adults are prescribed 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day.

Maalox is an antacid drug. Neutralizes free hydrochloric (hydrochloric) acid, which leads to a decrease in the peptic activity of gastric juice. Does not cause secondary hypersecretion. It also has an absorbent and enveloping effect, reducing the effect of damaging factors on the mucous membrane.
Maalox does not cause constipation. It is used as an absorbent, enveloping and antacid agent with increased acidity of gastric juice. Maalox soothes pain in the upper digestive tract for several hours.
Indications:
- Peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum in the acute phase;
- acute gastroduodenitis;
- chronic gastroduodenitis with normal or increased secretory function in the acute phase;
- hernia of the esophageal opening of the diaphragm;
- reflux esophagitis;
- the phenomenon of dyspepsia (and their prevention) resulting from the use of certain drugs (including NSAIDs, GCS);
- discomfort or pain in the epigastrium, heartburn with errors in diet, excessive consumption of coffee, alcohol, nicotine.
Contraindications:
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- Severe renal dysfunction;
- Pregnancy and lactation.
Method of administration and dosage:
Maalox is usually taken 1-1.5 hours after a meal or in case of pain. Adults are prescribed 1-2 tablets 3-4 times a day.
Side effects:
From the digestive system: rarely - constipation, nausea, vomiting, change in taste.
Others: with prolonged use and with impaired renal function - an increase in the level of magnesium and / or aluminum in the blood, phosphorus deficiency in the body, encephalopathy; in elderly people - exacerbation of diseases of the musculoskeletal system, Alzheimer's disease.
Special instructions: You
should observe the 2-hour interval between taking Maalox and other medicines.
When prescribing the drug to children, the dosage regimen is set individually; it is not recommended to use the drug in children under 12 years of age without consulting a doctor.
Drug interactions:
When taken simultaneously with Maalox, the absorption of tetracycline antibiotics, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, digoxin, indomethacin, acetylsalicylic acid (and other salicylates), blockers of histamine H2-receptors, beta-blockers, fluorine-blockers, fluorinated luminosine, istofonisaline, istofonisaline
With the simultaneous use of Maalox can increase the level of quinidine in the blood plasma, which increases the risk of overdose.
