Levosin ointment for external use, 40 g

• Purulent wounds (local treatment) in the purulent-necrotic phase of the wound process;

• infected skin wounds of various etiologies (burns, wounds, difficult healing ulcers).

Locally, externally soaked with ointment, sterile gauze wipes are applied to the affected areas of the body or through a catheter (drainage tube) into the cavity of the purulent process, an ointment preheated to 35Ц36 ? C is injected daily until the wound is completely cleansed.

100 g of ointment contain:

Active substances :

chloramphenicol (chloramphenicol) - 1.0 g,

sulfadimethoxine - 4.0 g,

methyuradil - 4.0 g,

trimecaine - 3.0 g;

Excipients : (polyethylene oxide 1500 (macrogol 1500), polyethylene oxide 400 (macrogol 400)) - a sufficient amount up to 100 g.

Hypersensitivity (including to the components of the drug).

Pharmacological properties
Levosin is a combined drug that has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic and necrolytic effects.
The drug is active against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, as well as anaerobes.
The ointment easily penetrates deep into the tissues, transporting chloramphenicol and sulfadimethoxin bound with polyethylene glycol. Due to the high hydration activity, LevosinЃ in a short time (2-3 days) usually ensures the elimination of perifocal edema and cleansing the wound from purulent-necrotic contents. Methyluracil, which is part of the drug, accelerates wound healing, stimulates cellular defense factors. Trimecaine is a local anesthetic, it acts more strongly and longer than procaine (novocaine), has little toxicity, does not have an irritating effect. LevosinЃ does not accumulate and does not have local irritating properties.

Indications for use

• Purulent wounds (including those infected with mixed microflora: burns, difficult-to-heal ulcers) in the first (purulent-necrotic) phase of the wound process.

Contraindications

• Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Application during pregnancy and lactation
Clinical experience with the use of LevosinЃ in pregnant and lactating women is limited, therefore, LevosinЃ ointment should be used according to the doctor's indications, when the intended benefit to the mother will outweigh the potential risk to the fetus and child.

Method of administration and dosage

Outwardly. The drug is impregnated with sterile gauze napkins, which are loosely filled in the wound.

It is possible to enter the purulent cavity through a catheter (drainage tube) using a syringe.

In this case, the ointment is preheated to 35-36 ? C.

Dressings are performed daily, until the wound is completely cleared of purulent-necrotic masses.

Side effect
Local allergic reactions (skin rash) are possible.

LevosinЃ ointment for external use, 40 g in aluminum tubes or 50 g dark glass jars (OS, OSI). Each tube and jar of 50 g together with instructions for medical use of the drug is placed in a cardboard box.

Shelf life
2 years, Do not use the drug after the expiration date.
