Pharmacological action

Has a sedative effect, has a moderate reflex vasodilating effect due to irritation of sensitive nerve endings. It stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and a number of other peptides, kinins (due to irritation of the mucous membrane receptors), which are actively involved in the regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain.

Indications

Functional cardialgia, neurosis, and also as an antiemetic in case of sea and air sickness.

Contraindications

Increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug.

Severe hypotension.

Composition

Active ingredient: levomenthol solution in menthyl isovalerate (validol) - 60 mg

Excipients: sucrose (sugar), dextrose (glucose monohydrate), calcium stearate.

Dosage and administration of

1 tab. 2-4 times a day.

A single dose for adults is 1-2 tablets, daily - 2-4 capsules. If necessary, the daily dose may be increased.

Side effects of

When taking validol in rare cases, slight fading, lacrimation, dizziness are possible, these phenomena usually quickly pass on their own.
