Pharmacological action
Validol has a sedative effect, has a mild reflex coronary vasodilator action due to irritation of the sensitive nerve endings of the hyoid area. It stimulates the production and release of enkephalins, endorphins and a number of other peptides, histamine, kinins (due to irritation of the mucous membrane receptors), which are actively involved in the regulation of vascular permeability, the formation of pain. Reduces pain without eliminating myocardial ischemia (weak and intermittent effect). With sublingual administration, the therapeutic effect on average occurs after 5 minutes.
Indications
The main indications for the use of the drug are mild attacks of angina pectoris, cardialgia, motion sickness syndrome (nausea, vomiting with sea and air sickness), hysteria, neurosis, headache associated with taking nitrates.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity.
Special instructions
To accelerate the achievement of the desired effect, the validol capsule can be cracked.
Caution should be given to patients with diabetes mellitus (for drugs containing sugar).
Composition
1 caps. contains validol (menthol solution in menthyl ester of isovalerianic acid) 100 mg.
Dosage and administration
Inside, after meals, with water.
Children from 6 to 12 years old - 1 capsule 2-3 times a day for 3-5 days, until the symptoms of the disease disappear.
Children over 12 years of age and adults - 2 capsules 2-3 times a day for 3-5 days, until the symptoms of the disease disappear.
If there is no improvement in well-being during the administration of the drug, discontinue and consult a doctor!
Side effects
When taking the drug in rare cases, slight nausea, lacrimation, dizziness are possible. These phenomena pass quickly on their own.
