Lekrolin eye drops 20mg / ml, 10ml

  • Allergic conjunctivitis

  • allergic keratitis,

  • keratoconjunctivitis,

  • irritation of the mucous membrane of the eyes due to allergic reactions (environmental factors, occupational hazards, household chemicals, cosmetics, ophthalmic dosage forms, plant pollen and animal dander).

At the beginning of treatment, 1-2 drops are prescribed in each conjunctival sac 4 times / day with an interval of 4-6 hours. If necessary, the frequency of use of the drug can be increased to 6-8 times / day.

Treatment continues until the symptoms of the disease completely disappear.

For seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, treatment should be started immediately after the first symptoms appear or applied prophylactically before the pollen season begins. Treatment is continued throughout the flowering season, or longer if symptoms persist.

In the absence of a positive effect from treatment for several weeks, the patient should consult a doctor.

Rules for using the drug LekrolinЃ in a dropper tube

1. Open the package along the dotted line.

2. Separate one dropper tube.

3. Close the package carefully.

4. Make sure the solution is at the bottom of the dropper tube and open the dropper tube.

5. Drop 1-2 drops into eyes.

The dose contained in the dropper tube is sufficient for one instillation in both eyes. Throw away the dropper tube after a single use, even if any contents remain.

Eye drops in the form of a transparent, colorless or slightly yellowish solution.

Excipients: benzalkonium chloride - 0.05 mg, disodium edetate - 0.1 mg, glycerol - 18 mg, polyvinyl alcohol - 12 mg, water d / i - up to 1 ml.

pharmachologic effect

Antiallergic drug, stabilizer of mast cell membranes. Prevents the degranulation of mast cells and the release of histamine, bradykinin, leukotrienes (including a slowly reacting substance) and other biologically active substances from them.

The drug is most effective when used prophylactically.

The full clinical effect in allergic eye diseases is achieved after a few days or weeks of drug treatment.

Pharmacokinetics

Suction

When using eye drops, the absorption of sodium cromoglycate through the mucous membrane of the eye is negligible.

Systemic bioavailability is less than 0.1%.

Withdrawal

T1 / 2 is 5-10 minutes.

Side effect

When applied topically, cromoglycic acid is usually well tolerated, and eye irritation symptoms are rare.

From the side of the organ of vision: with frequency - short-term symptoms of local irritation of the eyes (burning sensation, rapidly passing impairment of the clarity of visual perception); very rarely - conjunctival edema, foreign body sensation, dry eye syndrome, lacrimation, meibomitis and superficial damage to the corneal epithelium (if there is a preservative in the drops - benzalkonium chloride).

Others: very rarely - allergic reactions.

Application during pregnancy and lactation

During pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding), the drug should be used only when the intended benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Application in children

Contraindication: children under 4 years of age.

special instructions

LekrolinЃ eye drops, packed in a dropper bottle, contain the preservative benzalkonium chloride, therefore it is not recommended when wearing contact lenses. Contact lenses should be removed before instilling eye drops and set back no earlier than 15 minutes after using the drug.

LekrolinЃ eye drops, packed in a dropper tube, do not contain a preservative, so they can be used in patients using any type of contact lens.

Do not touch the eyes with the pipette tip.

The bottle must be closed after each use.

Influence on the ability to drive vehicles and mechanisms

Patients who, after instillation of the drug, have a short-term impairment of the clarity of visual perception, should not drive a car or work with machinery, machine tools or any other equipment that requires clarity of visual perception, immediately after using the eye drops.

Overdose

With local application of the drug, overdose is unlikely. Experimental studies on animals have shown that the local and systemic toxicity of cromoglycic acid is very low.

Symptoms: nausea is possible.

Treatment: carrying out symptomatic therapy.

Drug interactions

There were no negative symptoms of the interaction of cromoglycic acid with other drugs.

With the use of cromoglicic acid, it is possible to reduce the need for the use of ophthalmic preparations containing GCS.
