Antiglaucoma remedy. An analogue of prostaglandin F2 ?, is a selective FP receptor antagonist. Reduces intraocular pressure by increasing the uveoscleral outflow of aqueous humor. Does not significantly affect the production of aqueous humor and the blood-ophthalmic barrier. It is isopropyl ether - an inactive precursor, the hydrolysis of which leads to the formation of the pharmacologically active acid latanoprost.
Side effect

Application in children
The safety of use in children has not been established, therefore, use in pediatrics is not recommended.

Use with caution in secondary (due to inflammatory disease or trauma), congenital glaucoma, in open-angle glaucoma in patients with pseudophakia, as well as in pigmented glaucoma; angle-closure glaucoma (including with an acute attack). This is observed mainly in patients with mixed iris coloration and is not accompanied by any clinical symptoms or pathological changes, but may be irreversible. It should be borne in mind that latanoprost and its metabolites may be excreted in breast milk. The safety of use in children has not been established, therefore, use in pediatrics is not recommended. Should be used with caution in patients engaged in potentially hazardous activities, requiring a high speed of psychomotor reactions.
Drug interactions
With simultaneous use with timolol, adrenergic agonists, acetazolamide, pilocarpine, an additive effect on intraocular pressure is observed.
