DESCRIPTION

Lacto-Stop is a solution for oral administration to eliminate the symptoms of false pregnancy, as well as to prevent lactation mastitis during early weaning of puppies and kittens. In appearance, the drug is a clear liquid from colorless to slightly yellowish.

COMPOSITION

Lacto-Stop in 1 ml contains cabergoline 50 Ојg as an active ingredient, and an auxiliary substance - medium chain triglycerides (MCTs). -

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Lacto-Stop - refers to hypoprolactinemic drugs.

Cabergoline, which is part of the drug, is a derivative of ergot alkaloids, belongs to long-acting dopamine receptor agonists. It has a stimulating activity on the dopamine receptors of the hypothalamic-pituitary system, which are involved in the secretion of the main hormone of lactogenesis, prolactin, and has an inhibitory effect on its release. Cabergoline has no effect on other endocrine processes.

Lacto-Stop suppresses lactation, prevents enlargement of the mammary glands and prevents the development of lactational mastitis. A decrease in prolactin levels contributes to the rapid disappearance of signs of false pregnancy in an animal.

The equilibrium concentration of cabergoline when using the drug Lacto-Stop for a week exceeds the concentration of the hormone 2 - 3 times after a single use of the drug. Cabergoline is excreted from the body mainly in the form of metabolites in the urine (22%) and feces (60%) within 20 days; less than 4% was found in urine in unchanged form. The binding of cabergoline to plasma proteins is 40 - 42% and does not depend on its plasma concentration. The maximum effect after the use of the drug is noted after 48 hours, the effect of cabergoline after a single use lasts up to 14 days, to achieve a longer therapeutic effect, the use of the drug must be continued for 4-6 days.

Lacto-Stop in terms of the degree of impact on the body refers to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and sensitizing effects. Well tolerated by dogs and cats of different breeds and ages.

PURPOSE

Lacto-Stop is prescribed to eliminate the symptoms of false pregnancy, as well as to prevent lactational mastitis during early weaning of puppies and kittens, to prevent physiological lactation and treat disorders caused by hyperprolactinemia, including in animals with a history of pituitary adenoma (micro- and macroprolactinoma ) and with idiopathic hyperprolactinemia.

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

The drug is administered to dogs and cats orally with food or is injected forcibly with a dispenser on the root of the tongue once a day for 4 to 7 days at a dose of 1 ml per 1 kg of animal body weight.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

When working with Lacto-Stop, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with medicines. At the end of work, hands should be washed with warm water and soap. In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eye, they should be immediately washed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the drug's components should avoid direct contact with Lacto-Stop. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for the use of the drug or a label with you).

Empty vials from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindication to the use of the drug is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to cabergoline, arterial hypotension, renal and hepatic failure in history.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug Lacto-Stop in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in dogs and cats, as a rule, are not observed. In some animals the first two days of treatment may have decreased appetite, drowsiness and vomiting, which does not require discontinuation of the drug (in case of vomiting, the drug can be used on an empty stomach).

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, is 2 years from the date of production, after opening the bottle, 28 days.

Store the drug in the manufacturer's closed packaging, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C.
