Pharmacological properties

Prolonged-release plaster Kontraktubex has the following actions:

- regulates the formation of scars, scars;

- helps to smooth scars;

- protects the sensitive surface of the skin in the area of ??the scar.

The two-layer structure of the patch allows the active ingredients to be actively released, regulating the process of scar formation, and create the effect of occlusion and pressure in order to prevent moisture loss and create favorable conditions for the normal process of tissue repair without the growth of excessive scars. In addition, under the patch, a moderate physiological pressure is created on the tissues, as a result of which the connective tissue fibers in the process of formation are arranged in the correct order and in a normal amount, which leads to the development of a normal scar, which does not differ significantly from healthy skin.

1. Effect of occlusion (dressing): soft and airy micro-cushion is specially designed to reduce transepidermal moisture loss by scar tissue in order to create a special moisture-saving environment on the damaged skin area. Additionally, the soft, sponge-based material protects the damaged skin area.

2. Release of ingredients: The active release matrix of the components contains Zepalin and Allantoin, which are gradually released upon application of the patch over several hours.

The two-layer structure of the patch prevents excessive scar tissue formation, making scars smoother, softer and less visible.

special instructions

How can scars appear?

Any damage to the skin leads to the appearance of a wound (including burns, surgery, bites, etc.). After superficial damage to the upper layer of the skin, the epidermis, the skin is completely restored. However, when the deep layer of the skin, the dermis, is damaged, a scar is formed. Connective tissue is formed to close the cut, forming a scar. Unfortunately, in many cases, there is the formation of excess scar tissue due to various factors, incl. excessive loss of moisture in the skin, edema, dysregulation of the formation and distribution of cellular and fiber structures at the site of injury.

Why is it necessary to control the process of scar formation immediately after wound closure and removal of stitches?

2-3 weeks after the skin is damaged, the wound is closed by the formation of new connective tissue, while the process of regeneration of the skin in the deep layers can take months. Timely (early) treatment of fresh scars immediately after wound closure can have a positive effect on the scar formation process and prevent the formation of excess connective tissue that leads to hypertrophic scars or keloids.
