DESCRIPTION
Kolimast is an effective anti-mastitis drug against gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms.
COMPOSITION
Neomycin sulfate (40,000 mcg / g), beeswax and vaseline oil
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Neomycin is an aminoglycoside antibiotic with a bactericidal type of antimicrobial action. Effective against both gram-negative and gram-positive microorganisms. Antibiotic resistance of microorganisms develops slowly.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Enter intracisternally: with subclinical, serous and catarrhal mastitis, 5 ml once a day for 3 to 4 days; with purulent-catarrhal - the first injection of 10 ml, then 5 ml at intervals of 24 hours for 5-6 days. Before the introduction of the drug from the sick Thursday, the udder is milked out, and the nipple is disinfected with 70% ethyl alcohol. Before use, kolimast is heated to 36 - 39 В° C and shaken. The drug is collected from the vial with a sterile syringe and injected into the nipple of the affected quarter of the udder using a catheter. When using a syringe-catheter, the cannula of the syringe is tightly pressed against the opening of the nipple canal and the drug is injected. After the introduction, a light massage of the udder is carried out from the bottom up.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
During treatment and within 7 days after the last application of the drug, milk from the affected quarters is disposed of, and from the rest is fed to the animals after boiling. For food purposes, milk is used 7 days after the last injection of the drug, provided that the signs of mastitis, confirmed by mastitis tests, disappear completely.
Slaughter of animals and the use of meat products for food is allowed 7 days after the last injection of the drug.
The meat of animals that were forcedly killed before the expiration of the specified period is used for feeding carnivores or for the production of meat and bone meal. When working with the drug, you should follow the general rules provided for working with veterinary drugs.
CONTRAINDICATIONS

SIDE EFFECTS
When administered intracisternally into the mammary gland of clinically healthy lactating cows, it causes a slight, rapidly passing irritation of the udder tissue.
