Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to clodronic acid, other bisphosphonates or any components,

Special instructions
Bonefos should not be taken with milk, food, or with preparations containing calcium or other divalent cations, since they all interfere with the absorption of clodronate. The prepared solution for infusion should be used within 12 hours.
Composition
1 tablet contains 800 mg disodium clodronate.
Dosage and Administration
Inside. Tab. 800 mg each for convenience of administration can be preliminarily divided into 2 parts, which should be taken simultaneously, but not crushed and not dissolved. A dose of Bonefos 1600 mg is preferable to be taken once in the morning on an empty stomach, washed down with a glass of water, after which you should refrain from eating food and other drugs for 2 hours (with the exception of ordinary water). A dose of Bonefos more than 1600 mg is prescribed in 2 divided doses: the first - as recommended above, the second - between meals, 2 hours after or 1 hour before eating, drinking or taking other drugs.
In case of hypercalcemia - 2400ֳ200 mg / day in 2 divided doses with a gradual decrease to a maintenance dose of 1600 mg / day for osteolytic bone changes due to malignant tumors without hypercalcemia - the initial dose is 1600 mg / day, if necessary - up to 3600 mg / day ( no more) in patients with signs of renal failure - not more than 1600 mg.
Side effects of
From the electrolyte balance: asymptomatic hypocalcemia is possible, very rarely hypocalcemia, accompanied by clinical manifestations.
From the gastrointestinal tract: sometimes - nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
From the endocrine system: an increase in serum parathyroid hormone levels is possible, usually accompanied by a decrease in serum calcium levels.
From the liver: an increase in the activity of aminotransferases is possible.
From the side of the kidneys: rarely - an increase in serum creatinine and proteinuria, acute renal failure, which can develop after a quick administration of the drug.
Skin side: skin reactions rarely occur, according to the clinical picture corresponding to hypersensitivity reactions.
On the part of the respiratory system: in patients with asthma, with a history of hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid, respiratory dysfunction is possible.
Overdose
Symptoms: with iv administration of high doses of clodronic acid, an increase in serum creatinine concentration and impaired renal function were reported.
Treatment: symptomatic treatment. It is necessary to ensure that the patient receives a sufficient amount of fluid, as well as to monitor renal function and serum calcium.
