DESCRIPTION

Ketoprofen 10% (Ketoprofen 10%) - solution for injections in cattle and pigs as an anti-inflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic agent. The drug in appearance is a clear liquid from light yellow to green-yellow in color.

COMPOSITION

Ketoprofen 10% in 1 ml contains ketoprofen - 100 mg as an active ingredient, as well as auxiliary substances: L-arginine hydrochloride, sodium hydroxide, benzyl alcohol, citric acid, water for injection.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

.Ketoprofen 10% belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Ketoprofen, which is part of the drug, is a derivative of propionic acid, has a pronounced anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effect, inhibits platelet aggregation. The mechanism of action of ketoprofen is based on the suppression of the synthesis of prostaglandins as a result of the action on the cyclooxygenase and lipoxygenase links of the metabolism of arachidonic acid, stabilizes lysosomal membranes, and inhibits the activity of neutrophils in animals with arthritis.

Ketoprofen is rapidly absorbed from the injection site, enters the bloodstream and most organs and tissues, reaching a maximum plasma concentration in 30-40 minutes, more than 98% of ketoprofen binds to plasma proteins and is concentrated in the inflammation focus. It is excreted from the body mainly in the urine.

Ketoprofen 10% in terms of the degree of impact on the body belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it does not have a local irritating, sensitizing and embryotoxic effect, does not cumulate in the body.

PURPOSE

Ketoprofen 10% is prescribed to cattle and pigs as an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic agent in the complex therapy of acute and chronic diseases accompanied by inflammatory processes, pain syndromes and hyperthermia of various etiologies (obstetric-gynecological, gastrointestinal, respiratory and apparatus).

DOSAGE AND APPLICATION

When working with the drug Ketoprofen 10%, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety measures provided for when working with drugs.

People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with the drug. When working with the drug, it is prohibited to drink, smoke and eat. After handling the drug, wash your hands with soap and water. Empty packages from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.

In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they should be immediately washed with plenty of water. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).

The drug is administered to animals parenterally at a dose of 3 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (equivalent to 3 mg of ketoprofen per 1 kg of animal weight) daily, once a day for 1-3 days; cattle intravenously or intramuscularly; pigs intramuscularly.

The duration of the course of treatment depends on the condition of the animal and is determined by the attending physician.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

The use of the drug in pregnant and newborn animals is possible if necessary, if the expected benefit outweighs the potential risk from using the drug. No specific features of the drug use in lactating animals have been identified.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Contraindication to use is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug, severe renal, hepatic failure, gastric and duodenal ulcer, hemorrhagic syndrome. The drug is used with caution in animals in a state of dehydration, hypovolemia and hypotension due to the possible toxic effect of ketoprofen on the kidneys.

SIDE EFFECTS

Side effects and complications when using the drug Ketoprofen 10% in accordance with this instruction have not been established. In some animals, stomach irritation and vomiting may occur after using the drug. These symptoms disappear spontaneously and usually do not require additional use of drugs. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is discontinued and symptomatic treatment is prescribed.

In case of an overdose in the animal, there is a decrease in appetite, an inflammatory reaction at the injection site, the appearance of ulcers in the stomach and duodenum 12. In this case, the use of the drug is discontinued and remedies for symptomatic therapy are prescribed.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions in a sealed package, is 3 years from the date of production, after opening the package - no more than 28 days. It is forbidden to use the drug Ketoprofen 10% after the expiration date.

Store the medicinal product in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, separately from food and feed, in a place protected from direct sunlight at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C. After opening the bottle - at a temperature from 5oC to 8oC.
