DESCRIPTION
Kayod - tablets for the prevention and treatment of diseases caused by iodine deficiency in cattle. In appearance, the drug is a round white tablet.
COMPOSITION
Kayod tablets weighing 0.2 g contain in 1 tablet as an active ingredient potassium iodide - 6.0 mg, and as auxiliary substances: magnesium carbonate, magnesium sulfate, sodium thiosulfate, calcium stearate, talc, lactose.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Kayod tablets refers to iodine preparations for the prevention and treatment of thyroid diseases.
Iodine participates in the metabolism as a constituent part of the thyroid hormone, promotes enzyme formation, and activates the body's defense reactions. Potassium iodide, replenishing the iodine deficiency in the body, has a beneficial effect on the growth and development of young animals, contributes to an increase in the productivity and safety of animals. Does not contain free iodine and therefore does not irritate the mucous membrane. In the gastrointestinal tract, it is rapidly absorbed and penetrates into organs and tissues.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Kayod tablets are classified as low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007).
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Kayod tablets are prescribed for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in cattle with enzootic goiter and other diseases developing against the background of iodine deficiency, as well as in areas with iodine deficiency in soil and feed.
Kayod tablets are used for prophylactic purposes individually orally daily in doses: young fattening cattle weighing up to 300 kg, 0.5 tablets; young cattle for fattening weighing more than 300 kg 1 tablet; adult fattening livestock per animal 1.5-2 tablets; bulls-producers at the rate of 0.5 tablets for every 200 kg of animal weight; heifers - 0.5-1 tablet, first-heifers - 1-1.5 tablets.
The drug is used for therapeutic purposes according to indications in the same doses daily, until the clinical signs of the disease disappear.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
Overdose symptoms when using the drug in accordance with the instructions were not identified.
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use or when it is canceled have not been identified.
Avoid skipping the next use of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If one or more doses of the drug are missed, its use is resumed according to the same scheme in accordance with this instruction.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication to the use of Kayoda tablets is the increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug.
Contraindications and features of the use of the drug in pregnant animals, in animals during lactation and in the offspring of animals have not been established.

When using the drug Kayod tablets in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, are not observed.
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the medicinal product, subject to storage conditions, is 2 years from the date of manufacture. It is prohibited to use the medicinal product after the expiration date.
Store the drug in the manufacturer's closed packaging in a place protected from moisture and direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature of 5 В° C to 25 В° C.
PACKAGING
Kayod tablets are packaged in 100 pieces in polyethylene film bags, hermetically sealed, followed by placing in polymer cans, sealed with polymer screw-thread caps. Each consumer package is supplied with instructions for use.
