Pharmacological action
The herbal preparation, has an expectorant, mucolytic and antispasmodic effect due to the presence of saponins.
Indications
As an expectorant in infectious and inflammatory diseases of the upper respiratory tract and bronchi, accompanied by a cough with difficult to separate sputum.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, including to peppermint oil.
Bronchial asthma.
Predisposition to laryngospasm.
Arginine succinate synthetase deficiency.
Children under 2 years old.
Use during pregnancy and lactation
Gedelix should not be used during pregnancy and during lactation (due to insufficient clinical data).
Composition
100 ml drops contain:
Active ingredient:
ivy leaf extract (2.2–2.9: 1) - 4 g
Excipients: propylene glycol - 83.69 g glycerol - 20 g flavor (100 g flavor for cough drops contains star anise oil - 47.95 g eucalyptus new oil - 24.65 g of levomenthol - 27, 4 g) - 0.13 g peppermint oil - 0.03 g
Dosage and Administration
Inside, after meals.
If the doctor has not prescribed a different dosage, Gedelix should be taken 3 times a day.
Adults and children over 10 years of age: 31 (single dose) - 93 (daily dose).
Children 4-10 years: 21 (single dose) - 63 (daily dose).
Children 2–4 years of age: 16 (single dose) - 48 (daily dose).
The drug should be taken undiluted and washed down with a sufficient amount of water (up to 1 cup).
Shake well before use.
The duration of use of the drug depends on the severity of the disease, but should be at least 7 days. After the symptoms disappear, it is recommended to continue treatment with the drug for 2-3 days.
Side effects
Possible: allergic reactions, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea.
In rare cases: pain in the epigastric region.
If any of the side effects specified in the instructions are aggravated or any other side effects that are not listed in the instructions occur, you should inform your doctor.
Drug Interaction
The drug should not be used concomitantly with antitussive drugs because this impedes the discharge of liquefied phlegm.
Overdose
Symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, gastroenteritis are possible.
Treatment: withdrawal of the drug, symptomatic therapy.
Storage conditions
Store in a dark place at a temperature of 5–25 РC.
Keep out of the reach of children.
Expiration
4 years. Expiration after opening the primary packaging - 6 months.
