Iversan solution for oral administration 10ml
DESCRIPTION
Iversan (Iversan) - solution for oral use for the treatment and prevention of parasitic diseases in pigs, poultry, dogs and fur animals. In appearance, the drug is a clear oily liquid of greenish-yellow color.
COMPOSITION
Iversan as an active ingredient in 100 ml contains ivermectin - 4 g and auxiliary substances: vitamin E polyethylene glycol succinate (Kolliphor TPGS) and polyethylene glycol-400.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Iversan belongs to antiparasitic drugs of the class of macrocyclic lactones.
Ivermectin, which is part of the drug, is active against the larval and sexually mature phases of the development of nematodes of the gastrointestinal tract and lungs, fleas, lice, lice, eaters, bloodsuckers, sarcoptoid and gamasid ticks parasitizing pigs, farm birds, fur animals and dogs.
The mechanism of action of ivermectin lies in its effect on the magnitude of the current of chlorine ions through the membranes of the nerve and muscle cells of the parasite. The main targets are glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels and gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite. Ivermectin is well absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and penetrates into organs and tissues, reaching a maximum concentration in the blood of pigs and carnivores in 4-6 hours, in the blood of birds - 1 hour after oral administration. Ivermectin is excreted from the body mainly unchanged, mainly with feces and partly with urine, in lactating animals - also with milk.
Iversan, in terms of the degree of impact on the body, belongs to moderately hazardous substances (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007), in recommended doses it does not have embryotoxic, teratogenic and mutagenic effects; in the external environment is rapidly destroyed. The drug is toxic to bees, as well as fish and other aquatic organisms.
DOSAGE AND APPLICATION
Iversan is used for therapeutic and prophylactic purposes in pigs, farm birds (chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys), dogs and fur-bearing animals with nematodes and arachno-entomoses.
Due to the increased sensitivity of these breeds to macrocyclic lactones, the use of Iversan in collie, bobtail and sheltie dogs is carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian.
Iversan is used in the following doses: for pigs in a group way with water for drinking in a daily dose of 1 ml per 100 kg of animal weight (400 Ојg of ivermectin per 1 kg of animal weight); for dogs and fur-bearing animals individually with a small amount of food or water for drinking in a single dose of 0.05 ml per 1 O kg of animal weight (corresponds to 200 Ојg of ivermectin per 1 kg of weight); for birds in a group way with water for drinking in a daily dose of 1O ml per 100 liters of water.
The scheme for using the drug, depending on the parasitic disease, is shown in the table:
