DESCRIPTION

Isotic is a suspension for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs of bacterial and fungal etiology. In appearance, Isotic is a white suspension.

COMPOSITION

Isotic in 1 ml contains as active ingredients: hydrocartisone aceponate - 1.11 mg, miconazole nitrate - 15.1 mg, gentamicin - 2.25 mg (in the form of sulfate, at the rate of 669 IU / mg), and as an auxiliary substance : vaseline oil - up to 1 ml.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The complex of three active ingredients provides both antibiotic and antifungal effects, as well as action to relieve inflammation and itching accompanying otitis media, thanks to gentamicin, miconazole and hydrocortisone aceponate, respectively.

Hydrocortisone has a powerful anti-inflammatory effect. It inhibits the activity of various tissue-destroying enzymes - proteases and nucleases, matrix metalloproteinases, hyaluronidase, phospholipase, etc., inhibits the synthesis of prostaglandins, kinins, leukotrienes and other mediators of inflammation from arachidonic acid.

It also lowers the permeability of tissue barriers and vascular walls, inhibits exudation of fluid and protein into the focus of inflammation, migration of leukocytes to the focus (chemotaxis) and proliferation of connective tissue in the focus, stabilizes cell membranes, inhibits lipid peroxidation, the formation of free radicals in the focus of inflammation, and many other processes that play a role in the implementation of inflammation.

Also has a powerful anti-allergic effect.

Gentamicin actively penetrates the bacterial cell membrane, inhibits the protein synthesis of the pathogen. Highly active against aerobic gram-negative bacteria: Escherichia coli, Shigella spp., Salmonella spp., Enterobacter spp., Klebsiella spp., Serratia spp., Proteusspp., Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Acinetobacter spp. It is also active against aerobic gram-positive cocci: Staphylococcus spp. (including those resistant to penicillins and other antibiotics), some strains of Streptococcus spp. The fungicidal effect of miconazole is associated with a violation of the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of the fungal cell membrane. Miconazole binds to individual links in the ergosterol biosynthesis chain, which determines the fungistatic effect of the drug.

When applied topically, the active ingredients of Isotica are absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes in small quantities, having a predominantly local effect, which manifests itself in a decrease in edema, discomfort, redness, a specific odor and the formation of exudate in the auricle.

Isotic, according to the degree of impact on the body, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4 according to GOST 12.1.007-76).

MODE OF APPLICATION

Isotic is prescribed for the treatment of otitis externa in dogs caused by mixed infections (bacterial and fungal), including Malassezia pachydermatis, Staphylococcus pseudointermedius. Before first use, press the pump 2 times to fill the cannula with the full dose of the drug. Insert the cannula into the external auditory canal of the damaged ear and inject 1 ml of the suspension. The suspension is injected into each ear once a day for 5 days.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

This medicinal product is not intended for use in dogs during pregnancy and lactation, or in puppies under 2 months of age.

Avoid skipping the next dose of the drug, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic effectiveness. If one or more doses of a drug are missed, the course of use must be resumed in the prescribed dosages and regimen.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

Do not use in dogs with perforation of the tympanic membrane Do not use in dogs with hypersensitivity to active substances of the drug. Simultaneous use with potentially ototoxic drugs should be avoided. Use with caution in dogs with impaired liver and kidney function.

SIDE EFFECTS

When using the drug Isotic in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications, as a rule, have not been established. In case of allergic reactions, the use of the drug is stopped and antihistamines and / or symptomatic treatment are prescribed.

SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE

Store Izotic in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from 0 В° C to + 25 В° C. Shelf life 2 years from the date of manufacture. Shelf life is within 10 days after first use.
