DESCRIPTION

Iodinol is an antiseptic drug with a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activity. Iodinol is a dark blue liquid with a characteristic smell of iodine; foams when shaken.

COMPOSITION

The drug contains as active substances in 100 ml of solution: crystalline iodine 0.1 g, potassium iodide 0.3 g, polyvinyl alcohol 0.9 g.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Iodinol is an antiseptic. It is a product of the addition of molecular (crystalline) iodine to polyvinyl alcohol. The main active ingredient of iodinol is molecular iodine, which has antiseptic properties. Polyvinyl alcohol is a high-molecular compound, the content of which in Iodinol slows down the release of iodine and lengthens its interaction with body tissues; also reduces the irritating effect of iodine on tissue.

When applied externally, on mucous membranes and when administered orally in recommended doses, it has an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial effect, after resorption it stimulates the immune system.

When applied to extensive skin surfaces, iodine has a resorptive effect: it actively affects metabolism, enhances the processes of dissimilation, participates in the synthesis of T3 and T4, and has a proteolytic effect.

It has a bactericidal effect on both gram-positive and gram-negative flora (most active on streptococcal flora and Escherichia coli, Proteus), as well as on pathogenic fungi and yeast. Causes the death of spores of the causative agent of anthrax (at a concentration of 1% for free iodine for 30 minutes). A more stable flora is staphylococcus, however, with prolonged use of the drug in 80% of cases, there is a suppression of staphylococcal flora. Pseudomonas aeruginosa is resistant.

The norms of iodine for all types of animals are 0.3-0.6 mg / kg of dry matter of the diet, which should be taken into account when considering the appointment of the drug by mouth for prophylactic purposes in iodine-deficient regions and regions unfavorable in terms of the content of radionuclides in water, soil and feed.

Upon contact with the skin or mucous membranes, 30% is converted into iodides, and the rest into active iodine. Partially absorbed. The absorbed part penetrates into tissues and organs, is selectively absorbed by the thyroid gland. It is excreted mainly by the kidneys, intestines, sweat and mammary glands.

INDICATIONS

Gastrointestinal diseases, incl. enterocolitis, gastroenteritis, dyspepsia in young farm and domestic animals and birds; paratyphoid fever of pigs, balantidiosis (dysentery) of pigs, pullorosis, coccidiosis, dictyocaulosis of calves and lambs, vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis, surgical interventions, obstetric practice, treatment of infected skin wounds, chemical and thermal burns of I-II degrees, pyoderma, nasal and pharyngeal lavage and etc.

APPLICATION

Used for prophylactic and therapeutic purposes.

Inside: diluted in small amounts of solvents (pure water, milk, skim milk, syrup) at a temperature of 5-25? C. Can be mixed with small amounts of feed (cereals, boiled potatoes, various decoctions with the presence of starchy substances in them) and immediately feed them to animals or poultry.

Outwardly: in pure and diluted with water (temperature 5-25? РЎ) 1: 1 - 1: 2.

Intratracheally: warmed up to 35-37 В° in pure form.

Other methods of using the drug are also used, depending on the indications for use.

Recommended doses:

With dyspepsia of suckling pigs, 3-4 ml (per 1 pig) inside, diluted in 10-15 ml of boiled and chilled water or in the form of aqueous solutions of sugar, glucose. It is permissible to give in pure form 20-30 minutes before sucking the sow 2 times a day with an interval of 8-10 hours for 3-4 days.

In case of toxic dyspepsia of suckling pigs, inside in a dose of 10 ml (per 1 pig) 2 times a day for 3-4 days. At the same time, in the first 2-3 days of illness, symptomatic agents are injected under the skin (caffeine, pikotinic acid in the form of a 1% solution of 1-2 ml, vitamin B12-3-5 Ојg per pig, glucose by mouth or intramuscularly). With the combined use of iodinol with vitamin preparations (vitamin A intramuscularly up to 10,000 units per pig or fortified fish oil 2-3 ml), gastrointestinal disorders disappear after 2-3 days.

For dyspepsia of calves, orally at a dose of 15-25 ml (per calf), diluted in 50-100 ml of boiled and chilled water (in saline or 10% aqueous solution of sugar, glucose) 30-45 minutes before giving colostrum or milk 2 times a day for 3-4 days.

In case of toxic dyspepsia of calves, Iodinol is administered orally at the same dose and at the same time a 20% glucose solution is recommended intravenously at a dose of 150-200 ml, subcutaneously - physiological solution up to 300 ml (once a day for 2-3 days), intramuscularly oily a solution of vitamin A in a dose of 50,000-100,000 IU (once), once a day, 300-500 ml of sweet tea or a decoction of coffee is drunk.

With paratyphoid fever, piglets (2-3 months of age) are prescribed orally with a small amount of drinking water or starchy food at a dose of 15-25 ml per piglet 2 times a day for 5-7 days. With diarrhea and developing sepsis, paratyphoid serum is injected intramuscularly at a dose of 2 ml per 1 kg of animal weight once. The therapeutic effect is also provided by intramuscular administration of tetracycline at a dose of 0.01-0.015 mg per 1 kg of animal weight once a day for 3-4 days or bicillin-III at a dose of 20,000-30,000 IU per 1 kg of animal weight. Recovery occurs in 4-6 days.

With balantidiosis (dysentery) in pigs (4-6 months of age), orally with a small amount of drinking water or feed containing boiled potatoes, in a dose of 20-25 ml (per 1 head) twice a day for 7-10 days. The best therapeutic effect is obtained from the use of iodonol with osarsol. Osarsol is prescribed for 2 consecutive days (in generally accepted doses). Recovery occurs in 5-6 days.

With pullorosis of chickens (5-7 days of age), inside with drinking water or feed in a dose of 0.5 ml (per chicken) three times a day for 5-7 days. In order to prevent recurrence of the disease, iodinol is continued to be given for another 3-5 days.

With coccidiosis of chickens, inside with a small amount of drinking water at a dose of 0.3-0.5 ml per chicken 3 times a day for 5-6 days. In severe coccidiosis, chickens (4-5 weeks of age) are prescribed in a dose of 0.1-1 ml per chicken 2-3 times a day for 5-6 days. The therapeutic effect occurs in 3-4 days.

With gastrointestinal dyspepsia of chickens, inside with a small amount of drinking water at a dose of 0.3-0.5 ml per 1 chicken 2-3 times a day for 5-7 days. Recovery occurs in 2-3 days. For prophylactic purposes, it is prescribed in a dose of 0.2-0.3 ml per chicken intake once a day for 10-15 days.

In case of dictyocaulosis of calves and lambs, iodinol is administered intratracheally (the middle or lower part of the trachea with the lateral position of the animal) immediately, heated to 35-37 В° at a dose of 0.4-1 ml per 1 kg of animal weight once. Iodinol is re-administered in the same way and in the same dose every 1-3-5 days.

In case of follicular vestibulo-vaginitis in cows, the vagina is preliminarily washed (through a catheter) with a warm 2% soda solution, then a gauze tampon abundantly moistened with iodinol is introduced into the vagina, which is removed after 6-8 hours. This procedure is carried out once a day for 5-6 days (often only 50-100 ml of iodinol is injected into the vagina for the last two days).

In case of actinomycosis and botryomycosis of cattle, Iodinol is used as a specific agent, and daily for 8-14 days, 2 g of DV per 100 kg of animal weight in the form of aqueous solutions. Iodine is retained in the foci of the pathological process and contributes to the rapid resorption of inflammation products and neutralization of under-oxidized metabolic products.

In case of feather loss and apteriosis, Iodinol is prescribed to the bird by mouth at a dose of 3-4 mg of DV per head. For preventive purposes, it is used with drinking water at the rate of 50-80 mg of the drug's DV per 10 liters of water.

In case of gastrointestinal diseases, the drug is administered orally in its pure form or diluted with boiled water or saline (immediately before use) in a ratio of 1: 2 - 1: 5. Calves are given Iodinol daily until complete recovery 2 times a day at a dose of 1-1.5 ml per 1 kg of animal weight; for suckling pigs - in a dose of 5-10 ml per pig or at the rate (2 ml per 1 kg of body weight) 2 times a day until recovery; chickens - at the rate of 0.2-0.3 ml per head with a small amount of water once a day for 10-15 days.

As a cutaneous disinfectant: the antiseptic properties of Iodinol make it possible to use the drug for injections of medicinal substances, for the treatment of the operating field, as well as for the treatment of infected skin wounds, pyoderma, when washing open purulent cavities, inflammation of the mucous membranes of the mouth, nose and throat. For skin diseases, it is used externally in the form of washes, if necessary, a bandage is applied in the form of a lotion of gauze soaked in Iodinol. Dressings are done 1-2 times a day, gauze lying on the affected surface can not be removed, but again soaked with Iodinol.

For the treatment of stomatitis, otitis, Iodinol is used locally 1-2 times a day or 2-3 days. The procedures are carried out until recovery.

In the prevention and treatment of obstetric and gynecological diseases: Iodinol is highly effective in the treatment of vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis of farm animals. For the treatment of diseases of the uterus, the drug in its pure form or diluted in a 1: 1 ratio with saline solution is injected into the uterine cavity at 75-100 ml 3-4 times with an interval of 24 hours.

With catarrhal and catarrhal-purulent vestibulitis and vaginitis, the vaginal mucosa is irrigated 50-10
