DESCRIPTION
Dosage form: oral solution.
In appearance, the drug is a dark blue liquid.
COMPOSITION
Iodinol contains in 100 ml OD g of iodine and 0.3 g of potassium iodide as active substances, and 0.9 g of polyvinyl alcohol and purified water up to 100 ml as auxiliary substances.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Iodinol belongs to antibacterial drugs.
Iodinol has a broad antimicrobial spectrum of action against gram-positive and gram-negative microflora. The main active ingredient of Iodinol is molecular iodine, which has antiseptic properties; polyvinyl alcohol slows down the release of iodine and lengthens its interaction with body tissues, and also reduces the irritating effect of iodine on tissues.
According to the degree of impact on the body, Iodinol, according to GOST 12.1.007-76, belongs to low-hazard substances (hazard class 4).
INDICATIONS
Iodinol is used to treat bacterial gastrointestinal diseases in calves and pigs.
APPLICATION
Iodinol is prescribed orally 2 times a day for 7-10 days in the following doses:

The individual dose of Iodinol calculated for a calf or piglet is diluted immediately before use with boiled water or saline in a ratio of 1: 2 - 1: 5.
Violation of the drug use regimen should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in therapeutic efficacy. If the next dose is missed, the use of the drug should be resumed in the same dose and according to the same scheme.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
A contraindication for the use of Iodinol is the individual hypersensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug (including the history).
Iodinol is not prescribed in conjunction with other drugs.
OVERDOSE
Overdose symptoms have not been identified in animals.
SIDE EFFECTS
The peculiarities of the action of the drug during its first use and during its withdrawal were not revealed.
Side effects and complications when using Iodinol in accordance with this instruction, as a rule, are not observed. In case of increased individual sensitivity of the animal to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is stopped and, if necessary, antihistamines are prescribed to the animal.
Products of animal origin obtained from animals after the use of Iodinol are used without restrictions.
SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS
It is forbidden to use Iodinol after its expiration date.
Unused medicinal product is disposed of in accordance with legal requirements.
Empty vials from under the medicinal product must not be used for domestic purposes, they must be disposed of with household waste.
PRECAUTIONS
When working with Iodinol, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicines.
FIRST AID MEASURES
In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they must be rinsed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with Iodinol. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).
STORAGE
Iodinol is stored in the packaging of the manufacturing organization, separately from food and feed, in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of 3 В° C to 30 В° C. The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of production.
