Pharmacological action

Gramicidin C is an antibacterial drug for topical use in the oral cavity and pharynx.

Has a pronounced antimicrobial effect.

In high concentrations it has a bactericidal effect on most gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms - pathogens of infectious diseases of the oral cavity and pharynx.

Increases the permeability of the microbial cell membrane, which violates its stability and death.

The drug is practically not addictive to microorganisms sensitive to it.

When absorbed, it enhances salivation, helping to cleanse the oropharynx from microorganisms and inflammatory exudate.

Indications

Infectious and inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and throat, accompanied by severe pain: acute pharyngitis, tonsillitis, tonsillitis, periodontitis, gingivitis, stomatitis.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug, lactation.

sodium saccharin (soluble saccharin) - 0.00063 g

Dosage and Administration

Sublingual. Apply after meals, by slow absorption in the oral cavity, without chewing.

Within 1-2 hours after the use of the drug should refrain from eating and drinking.

Adults and children over 12 years of age - 2 tablets (one after the other for 20-30 minutes) 4 times a day.

Children from 6 to 12 years old - 1-2 tablets 4 times a day (but not more than 7 tablets per day).

Children from 4 to 6 years old - 1 tablet 4 times a day.

The course of treatment is 5-6 days. The use of more than 6 days is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.

Side effects

During the use of the drug, due to its anesthetic effect, a temporary loss of sensitivity of the tongue is possible.

In some cases, allergic reactions to the components of the drug are possible.

Drug Interaction

Gramicidin C potentiates the effects of other local and systemic antimicrobials.
