As an expectorant in the complex therapy of acute and chronic inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract, accompanied by a cough with difficult sputum.
Inside, after eating.
Children from 2 to 5 years old: 2.5 ml of syrup (1/2 dosing spoon) 2 times a day.
Children from 6 to 12 years old: 5 ml of syrup (1 dosing spoon) 2 times a day.
Adults and adolescents over 12 years old: 5Ц7.5 ml of syrup (1Ц1.5 dosing spoons) 2 times a day.
Dosing of the drug is made using a dosing plastic spoon.
During the period of treatment with HerbionЃ ivy syrup, it is recommended to consume a sufficient amount of warm liquid (water, tea).
The duration of treatment is 7 days. A repeated course is possible on the recommendation of a doctor.
Syrup 1 ml active ingredients: ivy leaves dry extract (5-7.5: 1) * 7 mg
excipients: liquid sorbitol (E420) - 500 mg; glycerol (E422) - 200 mg; sodium benzoate (E211) - 2 mg; citric acid monohydrate (E330) - 0.3 mg; aromatic balm ** - 1 mg; purified water - up to 1 ml
* Ivy leaf extract dry (5Ц7.5: 1) is prepared from ivy leaves (Hedera helix L., Araliaceae family, folium) and ethanol 30% (extractant)
** Aromatic balm contains propylene glycol (E1520), ethanol (E1510), citronella oil, citral from Litsea cubeba, lemon oil, coriander oil
-Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- sucrase / isomaltase deficiency, fructose intolerance;
-glucose-galactose malabsorption syndrome;
-pregnancy;
-the period of breastfeeding;
- age up to 2 years.
Pharmacodynamics
Herbal cough medicine. It has an expectorant, mucolytic and bronchospasmolytic effect. Reduces the viscosity of phlegm and promotes its discharge.
Pharmokinetics
The drug is a dry extract of ivy leaves containing a complex of biologically active substances (triterpene saponins), in connection with which pharmacokinetic studies are not possible.
Overdose
Symptoms: When taking large doses (3 times the recommended daily dose), nausea, vomiting and diarrhea may develop.
Treatment: drug withdrawal, symptomatic therapy.
Side effects
Allergic reactions are possible (skin rash, pruritus, dyspnea, anaphylactic reactions). Disorders from the gastrointestinal tract have been reported: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea (frequency unknown). Drug interactions
There are no reports of drug interactions between HerbionЃ ivy syrup and other drugs. The drug should not be used concurrently with antitussive drugs that reduce the formation of sputum, since this makes it difficult to discharge the liquefied sputum.
