DESCRIPTION
Tablets for oral administration Helmimax-10 - for puppies and adult dogs of medium breeds. In appearance, the preparation is a round white flat tablet with two perpendicularly spaced dividing grooves on one side and an imprint of the company logo (AS) on the other side.
COMPOSITION
The active ingredients of Helmimax-10 are: praziquantel - 50 mg and moxidectin - 2.5 mg. As auxiliary substances in 1 tablet contains: microcrystalline cellulose, cross-carmellose, calcium stearate, anhydrous lactose, sodium lauryl sulfate, aerosil, polyvinylpyrrolidone, flavoring 'Chicken'.
PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Helmimax belongs to the combined anthelmintic drugs.
The combination of praziquantel and moxidectin, which are part of the drug, provides a wide spectrum of its anthelmintic action on gastrointestinal nematodes (Toxocara canis, Toxocara cati (Toxosara mistax), Toxascaris leonina, Uncinaria stenocephala, Trichucus Eulpis, Ancylostuscostode Alveococus multilocularis, Mesocestoides lineatus, Dipylidium caninum, Diphyllobotrium latum, Multiceps multiceps), parasitizing dogs and cats.
Praziquantel is a compound of the pyrazinisoquinoline group that is active against gastrointestinal cestodes at all stages of development. By increasing the permeability of the parasite's cell membranes for calcium ions (Ca2 +), it causes membrane depolarization, muscle contraction and destruction of the tegument, which leads to the death of helminths and promotes their excretion from the animal's body. The compound is rapidly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract, reaching a maximum concentration in the blood plasma after 1 - 3 hours, reversibly binds to serum proteins (70 - 80%), partially metabolized in the liver, re-excreted into the intestine, excreted from the body mainly in the urine (up to 80%) within 24 hours.
Moxidectin is derived from chemically modified neadectin, a fermentation product of Streptomyces cyanogriseus noncyanogenus, and is a semi-synthetic compound from the milbemycin group.
Moxidectin has an antiparasitic effect against nematodes and arachnoentomoses. Its main targets are glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels, as well as gamma-aminobutyric acid receptors. A change in the current of chlorine ions disrupts the conduction of nerve impulses, which leads to paralysis and death of the parasite. Moxidectin also has an additional potentiating effect on gamma-aminobutyric acid (hereinafter GABA), accelerating its release from presynaptic terminals and facilitating its absorption by postsynaptic receptors of the peripheral nervous system. The attachment of GABA to the receptors of glutamate-sensitive chlorine channels stimulates the influx of chlorine ions, which leads to the development of paralysis. Moxidectin is well absorbed, enters the systemic circulation, and is excreted from the body mainly unchanged with feces.
In terms of the degree of its effect on the body, Helmimax is classified as a moderately hazardous substance (hazard class 3 according to GOST 12.1.007-76), in recommended doses it has no embryotoxic, teratogenic and sensitizing effect, is well tolerated by dogs and cats of different breeds and ages.

APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
The drug is administered to animals orally individually, in the morning feeding with a small amount of food or injected forcibly on the root of the tongue in the following therapeutic doses: moxidectin - 0.25 mg / kg, praziquantel - 5 mg / kg, based on:

For preventive purposes, deworming of animals is carried out once a quarter, as well as before each vaccination.
For therapeutic purposes, deworming is carried out according to indications. With a strong intensity of invasion, it is recommended to repeat deworming after 14 days.
In order to prevent dirofilariasis, in regions unfavorable for the disease, the drug is used in the spring-summer-autumn period: before the beginning of summer mosquitoes and mosquitoes once, then once a month and for the last time in the season no earlier than 1 month after the end of the summer of insects.
A preliminary fasting diet and the use of laxatives before deworming are not required.
OVERDOSE
In case of an overdose of the drug, the animal may experience a depression, refusal to feed, excessive salivation, upset gastrointestinal tract, muscle paresis, unsteady gait, trembling. In these cases, enterosorbents and symptomatic therapy are used. When the drug is first used in cats, self-passing hypersalivation is possible.
FEATURES
Deworming of pregnant and lactating females, if necessary, is carried out under the supervision of a veterinarian no later than 3 weeks before the expected birth and 2 to 3 weeks after birth. Puppies under 3 weeks of age and kittens under 6 weeks of age are not subject to deworming.
Violations of the deworming scheme should be avoided, as this can lead to a decrease in effectiveness. If the next dose is missed, the drug must be administered as soon as possible in the same dose, then the interval between drug injections does not change.
Helmimax should not be used concurrently with medicinal products containing piperazine, cholinesterase inhibitors, and macrocyclic lactones.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Contraindication to use is an individual intolerance to the components of the drug (including a history), severe renal and liver dysfunction. Do not use the drug in animals weighing less than 0.5 kg.
It is not recommended to use the drug in dogs of collie, sheltie, bobtail breeds due to the increased sensitivity of these breeds to macrocyclic lactones.
Depleted and sick with infectious diseases animals are not subject to deworming.
SIDE EFFECTS
When using Helmimax in accordance with this instruction, side effects and complications in animals, as a rule, are not observed. In some animals, disturbances in the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract (loose stools, vomiting) and increased salivation, ataxia, and lethargy are possible.
With increased individual sensitivity to the components of the drug and the appearance of allergic reactions, its use is discontinued and antihistamines and symptomatic therapy are prescribed to the animal.
PREVENTIVE MEASURES
When working with Helmimax, you should follow the general rules of personal hygiene and safety precautions provided for when working with medicines.
Do not smoke, drink or eat while working with the drug. At the end of work, wash your hands with warm water and detergent. It is forbidden to use empty packaging from under the medicinal product for household purposes, it must be disposed of with household waste.
In case of accidental contact of the drug with the skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, they should be rinsed with plenty of water. People with hypersensitivity to the components of the drug should avoid direct contact with Helmimax. In case of allergic reactions or accidental ingestion of the drug into the human body, you should immediately contact a medical institution (you should have instructions for use of the drug or a label with you).
SHELF LIFE AND STORAGE
The shelf life of the drug, subject to storage conditions, is 3 years from the date of production. It is forbidden to use the drug Gelmimax after the expiration date.
Store the drug in the manufacturer's sealed packaging, protected from direct sunlight, separately from food and feed, at a temperature from 0 В° C to 25 В° C. Helmimax should be stored out of the reach of children.
