Pharmacological action

Sinestrol has an estrogenic effect.

Estrogen - a derivative of stilbene, estrogen is equivalent in estrogen activity (a natural follicular hormone necessary for the normal development of the female body). Together with the corpus luteum hormone, the follicular hormone is involved in the regulation of the menstrual cycle.

Estrogens, interacting with specific receptors, affect target organs. Under their action, the proliferation of the epithelium occurs in the fallopian tubes, cervix, vagina, external genital organs, excretory ducts of the mammary glands. Increases the sensitivity of the muscles of the uterus and fallopian tubes to drugs stimulating their motor skills.

It has a lipid-lowering effect, increases the content of alpha-lipoproteins in the blood and sensitivity to the action of insulin, improves glucose utilization. In large doses, estrogens trap water and Na + in the body, inhibit erythropoiesis. In large doses, it inhibits, and in small doses, FSH secretion is activated.

Circulation of large amounts of estrogen in the blood for a short time promotes the ovulatory type of LH production. Hexestrol facilitates the course of pathologically menopause in women, prevents the development of postmenopausal osteoporosis, eliminates common disorders that occur in the body of women on the basis of ovarian hypofunction after gynecological operations.

Dosage and administration of

Sinestrol is administered intramuscularly. Doses are set individually depending on the diagnosis. As a rule, 0.5-5 ml of a 2% solution once a day for a month.

The highest single dose in the treatment of malignant tumors is 0.06 g (3 ml - 2% solution), the highest daily dose is 0.1 g (5 ml - 2% solution).

Drug interactions

Hexestrol increases the effectiveness of lipid-lowering and antiarrhythmic drugs, weakens the effects of male sex hormones, diuretics and anticoagulants.
