Hedgehog 2% dry gel 500g
This product requires special training when used.
DESCRIPTION
Rodenticidal agent Hedgehog is a powdery coarsely dispersed concentrate of pink or blue color. Food baits prepared on the basis of the 'Hedgehog' means have high palatability (40-42% of the daily diet) and high rodenticidal activity (death of rodents occurs within 5-13 days) in relation to the destruction of:
rats
mice
PURPOSE
Means Hedgehog is intended for preparation and use by personnel of organizations entitled to engage in disinfection activities, poisoned baits for the destruction of rats and mice in residential premises, at objects of various categories: food, medical (except wards), communal, residential and non-residential dry and wet rooms , underground structures, basements, cellars, sewerage network.
COMPOSITION
Difenacin - 2%, dye, filler.
METHOD OF APPLICATION AND DOSAGE
Preparation of gel from concentrate
A rodenticidal gel containing 0.1% difenacin is prepared from the hedgehog concentrate. To do this, the Hedgehog (2% concentrate) in an amount of 1 kg is gradually poured into 19 liters of warm water (about 50 В° C) with constant rapid stirring for 3-5 minutes until a uniform jelly-like mass (gel) is formed.
A ready-made gel containing 0.1% DV can be immediately used to prepare a poisoned bait. If not used immediately after preparation, store it in a container with a tightly closed lid in a dry place. The shelf life of the gel is at least 10 days. Dried baits based on it do not lose their toxic properties for several months.
To prepare the gel from the concentrate, use dishes that do not have foreign odors and have not been previously used for other purposes.
The gel is prepared in a deratization laboratory in compliance with the safety requirements recommended for the preparation of drugs based on difenacin and other anticoagulants.
Preparing poisoned gel baits
The preparation of food poisoned baits is carried out manually or using different types of mixers (for example, a TM-63 dough mixer or similar equipment).
To prepare 10 kg of a bait containing 0.015% DV, use 8.5 kg of food base and 1.5 kg of gel prepared from the Hedgehog remedy. The bait should be prepared from good-quality products: grain (oatmeal, wheat, etc.), cereals, hard-boiled cereals, bread crumbs, etc.
It is preferable to prepare the bait in small portions, counting on 1 day of work of a disinfector or a team.
The text of the label on the container with the 'Hedgehog' means or bait must necessarily contain the name, date of manufacture, prescription.
Using poisoned baits
The bait is placed in previously identified habitats or in places where traces of the vital activity of rodents (gnaws, droppings) are found. Lay out the bait in dry places under shelters (cabinets, equipment, etc.) in adapted containers (bait boxes, sheets of thick paper, cardboard, oilcloths, drain pipes, trays, boxes, etc.) or in special containers. The latter are preferable because increase the eatability of the product, preventing it from being taken away by rodents, and also complicate access to the bait for non-target species of animals.
The bait is laid out at least 100 g from rats and 20 g from mice, using a special spoon or scoop.
The distance between the bait placement points is 2-15 m, depending on the clutter of the premises and the number of rodents. Since the batches of bait from mice are smaller, they are laid out more often than from rats.
The laid out bait is inspected 1-2 days after the layout, and then at intervals of 1 week. The portions in which the bait is partially or completely eaten are replenished to the original volume or twice as much. Portions left untouched by rats or mice for more than a week are transferred to other places visited by rodents. Contaminated or spoiled bait is replaced with a new one. The work is carried out until the disappearance of rodents.
Due to the possibility of secondary poisoning, the corpses of rodents should be collected regularly (until the end of the work) for subsequent burial or incineration.
The bait can be left in places that are favorable for habitat or movement of rodents, or during periods of expected growth in their numbers. In this case, the bait is laid out in special containers (containers) and observations are carried out at least 2 times a month.
PRECAUTIONS
Precautions should be in accordance with the recommendations set out in the document '' Sanitary and Epidemiological Requirements for Deratization ''.
Work with the product (weighing the concentrate, preparation and packaging of poisoned baits) should be carried out in the open air or in premises designated for these purposes with effective general ventilation, under draft or using personal protective equipment (PPE) of the respiratory organs: dust masks '' Astra-2 '', '' F-62 Sh '' or any universal respirators (such as 'RU-60 M', 'RPG-67' or others), overalls: cotton overalls made of dust-proof fabric, oversleeves, oilcloth apron or rubberized, dressing gown, scarf or cap, to protect the skin of the hands - rubber gloves, eyes - dustproof sealed glasses.
For the preparation of poisoned baits, it is prohibited to use uncrushed sunflower seeds and other products that look attractive to people.
During work, do not allow contact with skin and eyes. Strictly observe the rules of personal hygiene, do not smoke, do not eat. During a break and at the end of work, be sure to take off your overalls, wash your hands and face thoroughly with warm water and soap. After work take a warm shower.
Overalls and gloves are rendered harmless by soaking in a soap-soda solution (25 g of soap and 5 g of soda ash per 1 liter of water) for 4-5 hours, followed by washing. Tables and utensils in which the bait was prepared, the used tools are washed with a 10% soda solution, and then with water.
The concentrate and baits should be stored in an undamaged container labeled 'YAD' in a special lockable cabinet (safe) or in warehouses adapted for storing pesticides, registering their arrival and consumption.
During storage and transportation, the packaging with the product must be tightly closed and have a label. Avoid keeping concentrate, baits, food base for baits next to strong odor chemicals.
Deliver ready-made baits to the place of pickup in bags (suitcases) intended only for this purpose.
People living or working in the processed objects should be advised of the presence of baits and the observance of precautions.
When processing medical and food objects, special precautions must be taken: lay out the baits and leave them in places inaccessible to children or during periods of their absence; place the baits in special containers accessible only to rodents, excluding the spread of poison by rodents and their ingress into food products, medicines and household items; the containers with the bait should be numbered, handed over to the customer against receipt, and after the end of the cycle of deratization work, the remains of the baits should be completely collected in plastic bags; at the end of the work, clean the treated object, paying special attention to the removal of possible bait residues.
The bait laid out outdoors should be protected from rain, streams of water, wind; do not lay out near bodies of water. Ensure that bait is not available to non-target species.
